Yes, there's another Hercules movie coming this year, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. With a release date in July, it seems odd that there has been no composer announced yet. Then again, I haven't seen any posters or other ads at all. Are they going to get the hype machine rolling soon or have they decided to let this one fail? Who knows! But here's hoping for another good score to a Ratner film. Ratner may be an average director at best, but unlike a lot of current directors he knows how to use music in his films. So far I've enjoyed almost all the scores for his films. Really curious who ends up scoring this one. A reunion with John Powell or Danny Elfman would be nice.

Unless he makes a Rush Hour 4 you're probably right. But hey at least Lalo has an assignment up on his IMDb page (hopefully for real) -- Sweetwater, starring James Caan, Brian Dennehy, Nathan Lane, Patrick Warburton, and Wood Harris. Looks interesting: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2365971/?ref_=nm_flmg_com_1 Yavar

It's too bad he's unlikely to use Lalo Schifrin again. Oh, that would be wonderful.

"Sweetwater" has been an assignment since 2008. The film just keeps getting delayed & delayed & delayed.

If Christophe Beck's not too busy with EDGE OF TOMORROW (absolutely loved his TOWER HEIST score), I wouldn't mind hearing his work on a movie like this. I agree with the choices of Elfman and Powell, as well. Seconded, that would be awesome, perhaps the sort of score that the remake of Conan could have got but didn't receive. Of course, maybe they'll just track in some Alan Menken gospel numbers as a remake of the Disney version... I'd pay money to see that.

"Sweetwater" has been an assignment since 2008. The film just keeps getting delayed & delayed & delayed. Huh. That's a shame since it sounds very interesting. So when was the last time Lalo composed for film, anyway? Yavar

Some no-name film in 2011, before that the last Rush Hour film. There's a short film in 2011, but I don't know if it's original score; people often incorrectly list stock music credits in the main composer credits on IMDb for short films. Though the director does share the same last name, so it's probably a family member who hired him for an original score. Maybe he's kind of semi retired.

The trailer is supposed to be out later today; maybe a composer will be credited.
