Wow, is PEACEMAKER the first DreamWorks/DreamWorks Records expansion?

If the Son of Batman album is half as good as either the Batman or Superman animated scores then I'm definitely in for that one...

Appropriately enough (since it was DreamWorks' first release), yes.

It's nice that's there's a Batman album coming in May after all since it's the month of the character's 75th anniversary!

As I've mentioned before in some other thread, I hope (not just for the fans, but for LLL as well) that The Peacemaker will include this "film version":

And for the sake of comparison, this would be the equivalent of the portion heard from 0'58 - 1'41 in this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Be7_CV8ORXI#t=57

And just to clarify, before anyone makes a comment/question about it; YES, it's different !

This cue is probably my favorite piece as well that was not on the original release.

I remember finding Peacemaker too noisy so I never picked up the original CD. I doubt I will buy the new one either.

Expanded Peacemaker!!! Brilliant. Just brilliant.

The expanded/complete version significantly improves upon the previous release which was poorly structured and arranged. The whole score, like the expanded/complete Total Recall release, develops and extends thematic material from the previously truncated release, giving the score room to breathe and allowing for a noticeable increase in cohesion and depth. The expanded Peacemaker material, presumably not weighed down by lengthy 17-minute type suites, will definitely showcase the more "heroic" side of the score, a more playful and epic presentation of this fun action score. I can see how people would dismiss the previous release as a bunch of noise; while I disagree, it was not presented well and an hour long score in 5 tracks (even if it was the composer's wishes) is kind of hard to crack for such a dense action score as Peacemaker.

I hope people will give this new release a chance, it is one of the most furiously kinetic and intense action scores ever written, and I think Zimmer's best in that genre.

Great release!!!

I had no complaints with the original release. I always preferred long bombastic suites. But I'll still buy the expanded edition without hesitation.

True story: I remember when I discovered the CD in the store, and saw only 5 tracks. I was concerned it was only a 30 minute score. (There were no cue times on the package) I had the guy at the store put the CD into the player so we could read the total run time before I purchased it.

According to interviews published at the time, Zimmer wasn't particularly fond of the score besides the Sarajevo theme... there are some fine bits and moments that will be premiering on the 2CD set, that's for sure... especially for those who prefer "the old" Zimmer to his more recent output.

The Peacemaker will be mine, one of holy grails finally released. The original release was one of my first Zimmer scores. I was still in high school when I got it. I remember the day after I bought it, school seemed to last a lifetime! I just couldn't wait to get home and play it to death.

While I never mind the long suites, it misses quite a few highlights. I can't wait to get rid of the unmentionable. Truly one of Zimmer's best action scores

Any action Zimmer is super-welcome!
Never heard of this Son of Batman, but will add it for sure to my (now) not-so-little Batman soundtracks collection

It's very different! The film version is much better IMO.

I'm also really hoping that it features the amazing trailer music (which I believe was by Harry Gregson-Williams if I remember right...)
