John Williams
James Horner
Hans Zimmer
Danny Elfman
Ennio Morricone

You can only take 3 scores to a desert island. They have to all meet this criteria:

1. It has to be from a movie scored in the last 5 years.
2. It has to be by one of these men above.
3. It has to exist in CD already.

What would you take? Why?

Looks like I'll be going to that island without music. :-(

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to need more information.

I'm sure you mean deserted island, as a desert island I don't think I would last that long (though ironically my avatar is of such a situation). This deserted island, does it have electricity and a cd player with amp? Maybe an mp3 player would be better as that tends to last longer battery wise.

Or is there a portable cd player with earplugs and an infinite number of battery supply? Or maybe a solar charger?

In the realistic scenario that a deserted island doesn't offer such luxury, wouldn't it be better to take vinyl with you as at least that way you can devise a method to still crudely listen to the music? Or perhaps like in Lost, which isn't quite deserted, but perhaps there is a hidden base underneath the island with a record player?

Are we allowed to smash the CDs for cutting use?

There is a portable CD player on this island and a GIGANTIC box of batteries. Should get you through years and years on the island.

I'll throw in a crate of canned food and a can opener! big grin

Avatar
The Karate Kid
For Greater Glory

Possibly The Best Offer or Baarìa would bump one of those three but I'd have to listen to them again.

Given more composers to choose from (that seems an arbitrary assortment of biggies) we might see a more diverse list.

And if anybody needs further evidence that CDs under most circumstances are better than LPs, you try reflecting a signal to a passing aircraft or boat with a bit of grooved black vinyl...

I'd be off that island before you can say Baaria, Rush and Tintin.
