The only thread I found (within quick search) was a Crimston Tide score thread that died over five years ago, so I thought I'd start a new one.
Honestly, I'm shocked that Crimson Tide hasn't been expanded by now. It is truly an iconic, landmark film score, and one of the highlights of Hans Zimmer's distinguished career. As much as I love scores like The Peacemaker, Broken Arrow, and Black Rain -- and as grateful as I am for their awesome expansions -- I still scratch my head in incredulity and wonder what's holding up the deluxe treatment of Crimson Tide. There's got to be a good reason, I obviously am not aware of it, but hopefully it's on the horizon or some label is working on it.
I would personally actually prefer an expansion of Zimmer's Drop Zone or Beyond Rangoon, but I think Crimson Tide is more deserving than those two.
(hopefully this won't turn into a "this should be expanded instead/no, this should be expanded first" thread)
La La Land, you did a phenomenal job with Broken Arrow and The Peacemaker -- the latter of which is somehow still available from its limited run -- I would love to see your magic touch extend to Crimson Tide!

No offense to Intrada, but I hate that anything Disney has to come from them. It is my own personal opinion that their remasterings are equal to the original soundtrack release, but not better. They more expand titles than improve the sound. (Please recognize that this is my opinion and you are free to disagree by all means. Just my own personal take! And I'm sure there are many examples where I'm wrong, but that just hasn't seemed to be the case for the titles that I've purchased.)
But mainly, I hate that Intrada owns the opportunity for all disney-related titles because if they choose not to do something (for example Duck Tales the TV show) then nobody can do it. It's like they're squatting on all these titles. If they don't want to do something, let somebody else do it.
And now, lest somebody paint me as a villain for having a less than completely glowing opinion, let me take this opportunity to state that I actually do love many titles released by Intrada, I am most grateful for what they do and plan to purchase many more items from them in the future. I still love you Roger!

if that means a more linear presentation of the score then I'd be all for exploring. I've always found it to be a difficult album to sit and listen to as presently structured.
Couldn't agree more. I'm all for long cues, but 23 minutes on one single cue? Eh...
(Don't get me started on K2...I respect the composer's wishes and artistic decisions, but again I say: Eh...)
I actually think that in general Zimmer's work is best when presented in these kind of suite arrangements, there are exceptions of course but I love the arrangements of 'Crimson Tide' and 'K2' in their current albums. That said I would certainly purchase an expanded and chronological 'Crimson Tide' to enjoy on it's own terms as a separate listening experience.

Exactly. And I would "expand" you comment by adding: "...and completely unreleased scores by any other composer instead".

We only speak ill of Varese around here.  Actually I'll agree Disney should share the love with other specialty labels only so we get more of their catalogue out in a timely manner. Intrada said themselves they'll never get to everything they want to release.

Actually you're wrong. We've never chosen not to do a Disney title. We choose to do the Duck Tales TV show but it couldn't get cleared. It wouldn't have mattered which label asked for it. We move at Disney's pace. Having more labels in there wouldn't speed up anything.
