OH NO!! Another legend passes.

To be honest, I was a bit worried about this when I saw him get an award in a recent show. He was frail and stuck in a wheelchair. But I thought - or hoped - it was just a temporary thing. Especially because he looked so young and vibrant LAST YEAR, at least 10-15 years younger than his actual age. So this must have been a short, but serious illness.

In any case, thank you so much for all the great music you've given us, classics that will stand the test of time, eternally ingrained in our popular culture. Also thank you for putting Jean Michel Jarre into this world, one of my absolute favourite musicians. My thoughts go out to him in this hour, and the rest of his family.

Adieu, maestro.

I assume the news has just broken. However, even though Jarre was French, the fact that he passed away in the United States means that it's odd one of the American news services hasn't reported it yet.

Given the state of what passes for news in America it's not odd at all. frown

That's really America: believing things only when they're reported in the waste of time what you call "News" there...it's for hours here on german radiostations such as "klassikradio" (www.klassikradio.de) or on the web site of the french/german tv station ARTE Television (www.arte-tv.com)...

You'll have to forgive us. It's a bit difficult to trust someone whose user name is Teri Weigel 1.

Um… Michael Arlidge, who asked for the confirmation, is Australian, posting from Brisbane.

I do find it odd that anybody would be so cynical about reports that an 84-year-old has died.

If some of you can read and understand a bit of french it will be very easy to recognize it's true...
