OH NO!! Another legend passes. To be honest, I was a bit worried about this when I saw him get an award in a recent show. He was frail and stuck in a wheelchair. But I thought - or hoped - it was just a temporary thing. Especially because he looked so young and vibrant LAST YEAR, at least 10-15 years younger than his actual age. So this must have been a short, but serious illness. In any case, thank you so much for all the great music you've given us, classics that will stand the test of time, eternally ingrained in our popular culture. Also thank you for putting Jean Michel Jarre into this world, one of my absolute favourite musicians. My thoughts go out to him in this hour, and the rest of his family. Adieu, maestro.

Is there confirmation of this from an English-language source?

I assume the news has just broken. However, even though Jarre was French, the fact that he passed away in the United States means that it's odd one of the American news services hasn't reported it yet.

This is sad news, I liked his music a lot. May he rest in peace.
