Not at the moment, but I hope we can record it in 2010 for its 52nd anniversary. For those who went to that Halloween GPO concert last year, got a preview of the Main and End Title.

I speak on great authority that Mr. Morgan doesn't want to hear any more questions about A&CMF until he is done with his proposed, upcoming "dream project" to record CURSE OF THE DEMON, CRACK IN THE WORLD, and ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN OF THE HIMALAYAS for String Quartet/Woodwind Quintet. I have heard synth renditions of his reconstruction work, and it will be a pleasant surprise, even for those purist naysayers.

Perfect! Just as long as we get "The Devil and Daniel Webster" for its 69th anniversary celebration!

If Frank Skinner received as many threads and posters as Bernard Herrmann, A&CMF would no doubt have been recorded by Tribute or some other label long ago. Unfortunately, there is a vocal but very small group of people who seem to care anything about this score. I am one of them, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a very small group of people asking for this music. I do hope John, Bill, and Anna get to it, but they also have to do things that will not cause them to wind up living under a bridge somewhere. I don't want that to happen, just in case Katy and I are already living under that same bridge.

Things are that rough, eh?

No problem. I have a gazebo in the yard which could be outfitted with a mosquito net (it's been a rainy summer here in sunny South Florida), probably big enough for two to inhabit. Now if both couples showed up -- sorry, the bridges are already taken -- I suppose I could rent a Ted's Shed and loan you my electric fan. Yes, I mean it -- you're all welcome to stay as long as you like! (You're on your own for meals, though.)

"Things are that rough?"

My suggestion is that you try to record music for "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" and then see what THAT does to your financial portfolio! A bridge might sound pretty good to you after you add up your profits and losses!

You've made a legitimate point MMM, well taken.

Thanks for getting back to me. Sorry I forgot your working on other projects at this time. I'm sure you know we "Baby Boomers" love that Universal Horror stuff. I appreciate your fine work in this genre.

I wonder, then, how successful the sales were on the rather obscure Philip Sainton's MOBY DICK, for which an original recording on RCA already existed...

I think one thing not taken into consideration is that this film is a unique cultural icon. There are, I'm sure, thousands of people who would buy copies of this CD - especially if it were adorned properly - who are not habitual soundtrack buyers. It's the ideal anti-snob score!.

Then I expect we'll be hearing your announcement of your financing of this re-recording any day now! wink

I see no reason to ask the question without being told not to because of some reason or another.

I can say that there is quite a group of fans of this film who would shell out $19.95 without thinking twice. Many of my friends who attend the Monster Bash in Pittsburgh would no doubt be first in line. Not to mention other classic horror fans.

This is great music and I was hoping for it to come out earlier this year. 2010 is ok, but I do wish it was here now, just in time for Halloween. I am looking forward to The Devil and Daniel Webster as well as The Adventures of Don Juan, but please make it A&CMF your next release.

This would make a great addition to my other classic monster movie music such as House of Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and Mad Monster Party.

Since the Tribute label (to my knowledge) is distributed via mailorder outlets only, are there enought potential customers? I love the film, but for the life of me the only way I could sit and listen to the music is if I were manacled in a chair the way Lou was in the movie...

Yes, but then after it was over you'd be so grateful, and you'd wonder why you had been resisting so strongly, why you'd been so reluctant to enjoy such a wonderful score.

Or do we have to transplant your brain before you see reason?

smile
