Not much to say, but WOW, this buyer won both of these gems for $920.00 for the pair.

$310.00 for the CDR Academy Promo

So is this one of the highest prices paid for a promo of a score? Just curious.

I can honestly say, no bragging, I have forked over quite a few pennies for some scores. I think I spent like $237'ish for Brokeback Mountain's promo and another couple hundred for Horner's Boy in the Stripped Pajamas. There isn't a score out there, that I would pay that much for. Course if I was incredibly wealthy, well of course, that wouldn't matter and I would put in a huge bid, but I'm not wealthy, I'm actually poor white trash!!!

If it is too good to be true, it is SCAMMERS.

Look people if you have a good printer, you can lift off the Academy site their lettering and the old cd now becomes A Promo CD.

Tons of scammers and tons of jackasses here who would spend that kind of funds for WHAT they think is real. Far from it.

I know the Academy is CDR, but I know first hand that the cast/crew is a legit CD, pressed and all that stuff. I can see these Up scores going for a lot, considering there are just a few actual CD's and CDR's out there.

But this makes zero sense to me now. I know that Variety and THR shows a lot of ads from studios pushing their "FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION".

But what makes no sense to me is... They have not nominated no one yet. SO this makes no sense to me. Why waste money on this.

There were some scammers caught printing up and pressing CDR's from last years, for your consideration.

I reported two flaky fucks, who all they did was print and press.

scams. all of them.

Because I know the Academy told the studios not to send out those pressing of CDs.

UP is a great movie, and the music was very enjoyable and memorable. but $1K? geez.

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION promos, the next generation of b**ts smile

Cirtap, I couldn't quite grasp what you're getting at.

Yes, the Academy did briefly ban the use of "For Your Consideration" CDs, but reversed itself later.

They send out the CDs in order to encourage nomination. That's why they spend the money.

Is that what you were asking?

The "For Your Consideration" CD of UP that I have is NOT a CD-R.

I asked the seller about that and he did say this one was a pressed CD, so I'm guessing those that have a CDR are false. I wonder if they would have made a CDR and a pressed CD of the same thing? Bond your the authority on this, do they do that stuff?

I think I spent like $237'ish for Brokeback Mountain's promo

I sort of hate you for having that. (Ish.) But I'll get over it. You see -- I can't quit you.

cool

BTW, and off topic -- I'm doing "Driving Miss Daisy" here at American Stage in St. Pete in March. You should come visit me and Barry and the hounds. No, we don't know each other, but there's a first time for everything!

They do. I had both pressed and CDR versions of Angela's Ashes and Talented Mr. Ripley. The inserts were identical.

All we love St. Pete, isn't that where The Suncoast used to be? We went and stayed there a few times in the past 10 years. It was fun when we first went there, but sadly each and everytime we went after, I think 2 more times, you could tell it was getting worse and worse. Sad it closed. We want to come down and try out that new Flamingo place.

What irritates me most is that because of saving up money for this one (though obviously not enough), I missed out on MAD MAD MAD MAD WORLD. Goshdang it...
