Another is where the Lotus comes out of the sea. It's seems modelled on the opening part of "Return To Scaramanga's Fun House". But, though there is some derivation going on, I do love The Spy Who Loved Me and I'd buy a complete edition in a second. These tracks are nothing compared to 'The Incredibles'- still, the resemblance here is more than passing. I'd disagree with that comment about THE INCREDIBLES. There wasn't a direct cue lift in any of that score like there is here. It's obvious that they "temp tracked" that sequence with the Barry music and Hamlisch copied it. And as for Barry suing over it, that would never happen as the music was owned by Eon and he would never stir up a fight over that with them. As much as I love THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, I think it's Oscar nomination for score wasn't really deserving. Especially when you consider that Barry was NEVER nominated for any of the Bond movies. I think I've listened to my copy of the score a grand total of about two times. I wouldn't mind if an expanded Spy Who Loved Me score were never released. I guess we're divided by this one. I really like the score, I must say. It may be at least in part because it was the first Bond I saw in the cinema and it really impressed me as a 7-year old, on the big screen. Even the action cues (Bond 77,car chase,etc) are actually made up of more than one cue. So, I can certainly understand the reasoning of the original album being a re-recording. God, what a positively shite song (excluding the Goldfinger references of course!)...laborious,cliche'd,....pure junk. And it took 4 or 5 'songwriters' to come up with it.
