The first thing I must start off by saying is that you have never heard a Marco Beltrami like Soul Surfer. It is utter brilliance and so, so beautiful. Second, I hasten to add that currently (3/30/11) there is still no score release, so I am referring to the six audio samples available on Marco's website, total time approximately 19 minutes. These have just now become available making their world premiere I believe! And let me tell you, forget a second about the fact that I love all things Beltrami, trust me when I tell you that you are in for a treat when you listen to these cues. Truly something wholly fresh and different in tone than just about anything Marco's ever written. Angelic female vocals, beautiful lyrical and soaring string themes, terrifyingly menacing action/suspense music aided by deep-voiced Hawaiian male singers, native Hawaiian instruments and players, festive and joyous performances, wall-shattering pounding ethnic percussion...this one has it all. "Shark Attack" has got to be one of the most unbearably suspenseful (in the best possible way) cues this composer has ever penned and the instrumentation is just unbelievable. "Soul Surfer Main Title" is so heavenly you will think you are dreaming -- I defy you to listen to it and not get chills. Seriously...men, women, children of all ages, Beltrami-lovers, Beltrami-nonlovers...rush to hear these samples because they will blow you away!!! Marco Beltrami, known by me for his consistent ability to impress and mesmerize, has truly taken his game to a new and glorious level. It's good to be alive... http://www.marcobeltrami.com/audio.html

As I mentioned in the other Beltrami thread (...) it's his best in many years.

As I mentioned in the other Beltrami thread (...) it's his best in many years. What does the (...) mean? Maybe insert an Uncle Reuben-style eye-roll in there
