Madonna's second directorial effort, W.E., about King Edward & Wallis Simpson screened at the Venice film festival and I noticed the original music score is by Abel Korzeniowski.
Korzeniowski is best known for this score to Tom Ford's film A SINGLE MAN which I really loved so I'm looking forward to hearing what he's done here.
I read a couple of the reviews (which were mixed) and was surprised Madonna has chose include "Pretty Vacant" by Sex Pistols for one scene which seems like a purposeful anachronism. This was duly noted in a couple of the reviews and the only mention of the actual score said it had a"Philip Glass-like sound."
I see from the imdb listing that it was recorded in England so maybe we'll get some sort of release of it.
Korzeniowski is quickly becoming one of my favorite current composers with each new thing I hear from him, and while I don't have use for the film I will be looking forward happily to the score.
For those who have not yet heard his commissioned score for Lang's Metropolis entitled "Symphony of Fear" then I really recommend checking out the MP3s that stream at his site. It is truly a marvelous piece of musical composition...

Yup, that METROPOLIS score is fantastic and almost rivals the original. Korzeniowski has become very visible on my radar on the last few years; I play A SINGLE MAN all the time.
I'm looking forward to this score too, because I love A Single Man score. there are rumours that it's a very beautiful score but that it's too loud in the movie.. We'll see..
Just saw the newest trailer for this film and unless my eyesight is playing tricks on me or I have a case of wishful thinking, it looks like Lakeshore Records is doing the soundtrack release.
If they aren't, I hope someone else is because I'm eager to hear more of Krzeniowski's work.
I heard a cue from this at the Ghent concert last month. It was really nice, much in the same vein as A SINGLE MAN (although driven more by piano than strings). Got those same repetitive patters and the melancholic melody.
I think this trailer (which isn't really the official one, but an "in post production" trailer as it states in the end) features two pieces by the composer. The first and 3rd.

Oh, at first I thought Korzeniowski said that! But it's William Orbit.
