Here are the rules:

1) The first person to guess correctly gets to post the next mystery cover. Please don't post the next mystery cover until the original poster reveals the full image and confirms that the guess is correct. EXCEPTION: If the guesser is certain that their guess is correct, he/she may reveal the full image themself and proceed to post the next mystery cover.

2) If the person who guesses correctly doesn't post a new mystery cover within 12 hours, anyone else is free to jump in.

3) If the person who guesses correctly chooses NOT to post the next mystery cover, for whatever reason, he/she may pass their turn, at which time anyone else is free to jump in. If you decide to pass, you should indicate so as soon as possible so as not to hold up the game.

4) If you decide to seize the opportunity to jump in, you should post a placeholder stating something to the effect of "next mystery cover coming up momentarily," so multiple people don't post new mystery covers at the same time.

5) If a mystery cover is not guessed correctly within 48 hours, the original poster should reveal the full image, at which time they can choose whether to post another mystery cover or give up their turn so another person can jump in. The original poster may post a more inclusive version of the mystery cover at any time during the initial 48-hour period if they wish to lessen the difficulty.

6) Mystery covers must be taken from CD cover art (official releases only).

7) Let's keep it "safe for work." wink

Great game! I think the winner should be the next to post.

Cool. Scream was just the first one that popped into my head, so I took a guess. smile

Okay, here's the next one. I just picked the score I recently ordered.

I know the answer, but I don't have a cover ready to post...

It is Theater of Blood.

Would be nice to first have it confirmed by Michael that it was THEATER OF BLOOD before a new is posted.

I just figured in the interest of game momentum I would go ahead and post the next image, but a google image search pretty much confirms that was Vincent Price's hand holding the skull on the cover art of Theater of Blood.

True. If the poster isn't around often enough to confirm or deny, and you know for sure it's right (perhaps posting a pic of the whole cover), I guess it's fine to move on.

Hedji is correct about mine. It is Theater of Blood.

I figured somebody would guess it during the night, after I'd gone to bed. LOL!

I've got several games like this running on my own message board, and would suggest establishing some ground rules.

The most obvious one is that whoever guesses correctly gets to post the next mystery image.

We've also established a "48 hour" rule, meaning that if the person who's guessed correctly doesn't post a new image, then anyone can jump in. 48 hours might be too long - it could be 24 hours, for example.

I would also suggest that we restrict the game to CD sleeves only, to make it as fair as possible (not everyone was collecting when vinyl was the format of choice).

How 'bout you let the guy who started the thread make the rules, hmm? He may have been purposeful in not establishing guidelines.

Sounds like good suggestions, all of them.
