which one would you go for,

your choices being:

FATE IS THE HUNTER / SHOCK TREATMENT

or

THE DETECTIVE / VON RYAN'S EXPRESS?

Thanks,

Zoob

Neither. razz

There are some remaining Goldsmith soundtracks that I want and need -- RUDY, ISLANDS IN THE STREAM, GREMLINS, maybe the rejected TIMELINE. Also, if there are any scores in a calmer idiom that I don't already own. I'm talking about the original soundtracks, of course, not the expansions.

Beyond that, I have the Goldsmith that I need.

It would be a yet-to-be produced CAPRICORN ONE, with both complete score and "original soundtrack" album. Or, a complete MATINEE. But, seeing as they don't exist...

FATE IS THE HUNTER has a Goldsmith sound I love - I'd go for that!

I prefer scores to movies with nymphomaniacs, so THE DETECTIVE gets preference in this choice. smile

(Actually, that WOULD be my choice, but not my reason.)

The Detective / Von Ryan's Express is more of a complete listen to me than the other double bill. I would guess that the Shock Treatment / Fate Is The Hunter would go OUT OF PRINT sooner than the other, but that's just a guess.

I'd like to see the Intrada Capricorn One re-materialise too. My choice would be The Detective/Von Ryan's Express, both of which I've seen. The other compilation is from movies I haven't yet seen. I'm not at all sure if I'm applying bias because I can buy music to films I've never even seen and be perfectly contented with that. I guess it must be the $$$ factor. frown

Of the four scores, "Shock Treatment" is my favorite. So I'd pick the one that has that.

THE DETECTIVE/VON RYAN'S EXPRESS, if only for "Fire Sale" from the latter. Marvelous piece of music.

Pass on both, and wait for the next one (easy for me to say, I have the box, and all of these scores are well represented, but really, you can do without); or get SALAMANDER if you haven't yet.
