Brian has signed on to score the Fox drama "Sleepy Hollow".
The show is created by Alex Kurtzman & Bob Orci (Star Trek, Transformers) and Phillip Iscove and stars Tom Mison, Nicole Beharie, Orlando Jones, John Cho and Katia Winter . The supernatural thriller is based on The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow and follows Ichabod Crane as he partners with Sleepy Hollow’s Detective Abbie Archer to solve the mysteries of a town ravaged by the battle between good and evil.
Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard, Underworld) has directed the pilot. Kurtzman & Orci are producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Wiseman and Heather Kadin. Fox is expected to announce later this month if Sleepy Hollow will be picked up to series.
Just finished watching it here. Really wasn't sure how it would be, but I enjoyed the premiere and thought it set up some intriguing ideas in terms of where they plan to go with it. I'll definitely be sticking around for more.
As for the score, while I like Brian Tyler, I honestly didn't really notice it very much.

Yeah, a lot of it is ambient synth stuff that fits the mood just fine but doesn't really stand out. Then every once in a while it bounces to life with a jaunty riff clearly influenced by a temp of Zimmer's SHERLOCK HOLMES theme.

I agree about the show, but there is not much better to watch these days. The score was noticeable at times, but was covered up by sound effect, dialogue, etc. Tylers usual percussion was the most noticed.
so is it synth only + some percussions or there are some orchestral elements as well? Maybe I should probably just watch it... but still can't decide if I should...

Honestly I couldn't tell. The "jaunty riff" material sounds like it could've used some orchestral elements. I missed the first five minutes of the show so I don't know if there's a main title theme.
ETA: It's not necessarily a problem of Tyler's that I couldn't tell. The score gets lost in the sound mix in many scenes. If you're really curious the hour's not a total waste of time. I can't say it made a season-long viewer out of me, but Tom Mison is fine as Ichabod and Nicole Beharie makes an appealing counterpart as a present-day cop who partners with him.

I could not tell either if it was synth or orchestral, too close to tell on the first listen with the sound mix. There was a song when the credits were being shown.
Courtesy of Nielsen ratings, I can tell you that the network took home the adults 18-49 crown last night (Monday) with the return of Bones (7.526 million viewers), followed by the much-anticipated debut of Sleepy Hollow, the Nicole Beharie/Orlando Jones suspense-drama, which drew an astounding 10.046 million viewers, and a 3.4 rating, making it the #1 primetime drama last night in the adults 18-49 demo, as well as FOX's highest rated fall drama premiere in 6 years, and on any broadcast network in one year, knocking off NBC's Revolution from that slot.

Just watched it and thoroughly enjoyed both the show AND the score! It appears to have some of the 'jaunty' feeling of his upcoming Assassin's Creed 4 score
Yeah, the show was surprisingly not awful, and I'm allowing myself to hope that it grows in good directions. The score was okay. Not very original -- some of the action quoted from the already-unoriginal AvP:Requiem, and the perky underscore seems practically de rigueur these days -- but effective enough. Does anyone know if Tyler's onboard for the whole season or just the pilot?
