So, I assume club productions have been put on hiatus until further notice. They released a batch back in Nov 2012. That does not make it a year, only about 5 1/2 months. That's not terrible, they usually only have about 3 of these Club releases a year. I would suspect that he club isn't dead quite yet.. Mr. Townson is focused on the concert happening tonight. After that I suspect he'll have more time to devote to this aspect of his job after that. The last announcment was late October, so nothing by the end of this month will make it seven months. I don't think it's finished, I'd think it's still profitable, & I'm expecting an announcment sometime soon. Count me as one of the people who doesn't mind Varese to focus on other things (concerts, encore, limited, ...) as really in all honesty their club releases in most cases pale in comparison to La-La Land and intrada. Varese are still stuck in the 90s as far as the majority of their product goes, releasing concert 'dvds' in stereo in an age of HD & dolby surround is baffling to me, and their album program mentality makes me wish scores like "Star Trek into Darkness" were released by another label. I still don't see anything positive about their buyout. Me too. I'm still disappointed about their Chinatown release from the latest Club batch. That is not always the norm for releases? Giacchino chose what cues, not Varese - Do you have a quote from Giacchino confirming this? Because I sat and listened to Robert Townson's philosophy on releasing scores for an hour and he has little interest in doing C&C. And even if "Into Darkness" album was the composer's choice, I'd still disagree with it and cite it as an example of the older outdated album mentality. P.S. Obviously, other people work on them in other capacities.    Posted:   May 11, 2013 - 9:45 AM     By:   Trent B   (Member) I still think the Star Trek 2009 Deluxe Edition was Townson's own personal edit... it SHOULD have been the intended version, nothing missing and the correct takes IE: "I've Fallen and I Can't Beam Up!". Although the absence of choir and percussion dubs would have been understandable as the re-use fees are probably pretty high right now.
