According to today’s issue of The Guardian newspaper (page 25) Ennio Morricone, Enrico Ciacci, Alessandro Alessandroni, and Bruno Battisti D’Amario are being sued collectively by Maria Rucher, the daughter of the late guitarist Pino Rucher. She says she wants €800,000 owed to her father for not receiving full credit for playing guitar on the Dollars trilogy soundtracks.

She first approached Ciacci, Allesandroni, and D’Amario to challenge their claims to have worked on the soundtracks, but was rebuffed by all three. These three individuals then started falling out with each other over who played what, wrote the Italian newspaper La Repubblica. Ms Rucher then took her claim to Morricone, who denied her father worked on the films at all. His recollection is that Allesandroni was used on A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS and D’Amario played on the other two pictures.

Ms Rucher is taking Morricone and the three guitarists to court, demanding €200,000 from each. The case is set for 23 May in Rome, and Morricone is expected to give evidence.

What I do not understand is why is she doing that now and not several years ago? The movie/movies was made in the 60`s if I am not mistaken. That, to me feels like a person with a hidden agenda. It makes one wonder if she might be in some kind of economical trouble or what?

Personally I think that they should check if she is or soon to be broke because if it is then it is obvious that she`s doing it for that reason. If it really is because of her father why did not he claim that back in the days? No I really think that Morricone and company has nothing to fear.

If the other three guitarists are being sued because they have been receiving royalties for 30 years that were owed to Rucher's father, how could the guitarists (or the organization paying them the royalties) not know what scores they played on? And if they haven't been receiving royalties, on what basis could they be sued?
