I (the undersigned) Pledge:

- That I will always ask for the release of another score when any other long-awaited score is released. This way, I can make the people who worked three long years to make a release possible feel as though they wasted their time because my particular need wasn't met.

- When given any opportunity, I will patently insult a composer's work - and, by inference, the fans of said composer - before finding a reason to praise another composer's work. Both praise and critical analysis require thoughtful reasoning. Blatant insults don't. That works for me.

- I will always take time to personally insult a contributor to the forum or what they've posted, thereby causing a chain-reaction of insults to be traded back and forth between anonymous members. Then, as others verbally attack one another, I can just sit back and admire my achievement. I consider it the highest honor if the topic gets locked by the forum administrator.

- I will always take the time to login, click on "reply to post" and simply type the word, "Ordered" to express my approval of a release. I will then logout and feel good about my contribution to the forum.

- I will handle all my ordering complaints about a release publicly rather than contact a seller directly - even if that means a short, simple email or a brief phone call which might actually facilitate a personal relationship with said seller. The use of public vinegar as opposed to personal honey is always preferable. This includes publicly complaining about such things such as cracked jewel cases that were damaged in shipping. Therefore, a seller's track record of excellent service is negated and I have made the lives of that HUGE company of three or four people just a bit more miserable.

- I will treat the forum with the same sense of immediate gratification and lack of decency that I handle all my other online activities. The shared appreciation of film music is not as important as my desire to play with the buttons on my device and type any ol' thing because I'm very, very much in need of constant distraction. I love my devices more than film music. After all, I spend more time on them than I do LISTENING to film music - or being with friends or accomplishing more productive tasks. You really expect me to take the time to post something I took a minute to actually think about? YO! That's OLD SCHOOL!

- I pledge to slowly chip away at the pleasure of what should be interesting and fun in tiny ways with my selfish need for faceless attention. I once expressed my individuality by being a fan of film music but I can't extend that individuality to my online life. I am the very typical product of the negative side of the internet.

I was about to sign your deed (kidding of course wink!): This is a forum and like it or not but on most forums you are open and free to discuss or debate releases and other inconveniences why do you want us to apoligize for any of your written points or frustrations? Which is really fun stuff to read, btw....

No apologies requested. An individual's postings reveal whether or not they have signed the pledge. There will be those who claim that I AM the biggest signer, I'm sure.

What happens if you've done some of these things without having signed the pledge? Am I in trouble?

Your actions ARE your signature. But I'm a believer in redemption. Hope springs eternal even when the spring is just barely a trickle.

You forgot to add to act sarcastically when someone tries to contribute something for the general good of the board, taking such constructive criticism personally, as if it were a directed totally at me! Typical for you to do that. What were you thinking?

So true. So true. Words that appear in front of a person means those words are DIRECTED at that person. I remember one time I was reading a Ken Follett mystery when I could swear he was calling me, ME a spy!

LOL. deglialberi, I was awe-inspired by the creativity and "right on" aspects of your pledge. How marvelous!

(But I won't sign it, and those who already have signed it in invisible ink will probably continue to live and breathe the pledge.)

Don't forget
-I will chastise anyone who don't know something that was posted elsewhere on the board, because proper forum members read every post.
-I will have a huge hissy fit about even the slightest issue with a thread title inffering a post that ends up not quite as expected, because it's the most important thing in the world.

Degliaberi, this 'pledge' isn't worth the paper it's printed on!! LOL.

WHY?

Because you forgot the most important clause in the pledge: "I promise to behave like a drama queen at all times because everything on the internet is about me. To that end, I absolutely guarantee to over-use the first person pronoun at all times so that people can see that it REALLY IS all about me (I have no life and am insignificant when the computer is turned off).

Jeez "Degli", I think I've just profiled a troll who has driven me mad on the internet and inveigled his way into my private emailing over the last 3 plus years!!

The pledge contains a number of amendments written between the lines - filed under, "Yeah, that's the idea." I'm confident your suggestion is in there somewhere.

Oh, and anyone who is literate enough to use words such as "inveigled" will never need to sign the pledge. You get a free pass, as far as I'm concerned.

Also forgotten in this pledge:

I shall create endless usernames to make posts that suit whatever fancy I'm feeling and to deflect criticism going on in another thread. This will make me all omnipotent until I get bored and create another username.

What about the 'user' who has had to resort to multiple user-names in order to simply avoid the attention and vitriol of a Troll? It was to no avail - he always found me, no matter where I was, or under what disguise. I don't contribute any more.

BUT

I quote John Donne:

"I am two fools, I know,
For lurking and for saying so
In rhyming verse".
