Halloween is coming ... so we better get going with the announcements for our next concert! And what an announcement it is! Perhaps it's not a great surprise, if only because we absolutely could not imagine this concert without him. Christopher Young is one of this label's oldest and dearest friends. A brilliant composer who has brought his great artistry to virtually every film genre you could mention, but Christopher Young has developed a particular tie with horror films and so, we are thrilled to offer the stage of our Halloween Gala with The Golden State Pops Orchestra to this master of thrills and chills. From The Fly II, The Dark Half, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 and The Glass House, to The Grudge, The Grudge 2 and Ghostrider ... Christopher Young has been scaring us for years. We've been with Marco from the very beginning, with his score for Wes Craven's SCREAM. He's now one of the biggest stars in film music and continues to define his work with an inventiveness that is truly exciting. Marco's creative musical drive has been on ample display in such scores as Mimic, Hellboy, The Watcher, Blade II, Flight of the Phoenix, Live Free Or Die Hard, Knowing, The Thing, Soul Surfer, Trouble With the Curve and his latest blockbuster - Wolverine. CLIFF EIDELMAN RETURNS FOR THE
VARÈSE SARABANDE 35th ANNIVERSARY HALLOWEEN GALA!
We're so excited to announce that Cliff Eidelman will be returning to conduct the Golden State Pops Orchestra on October 19 for our Halloween show! We've been working with Cliff since his thrilling and epic score for Triumph Of The Spirit, back in 1989. We released his 2112 score for Big Miracle, along with so many other wonderful scores along the way ... Untamed Heart, Christopher Columbus: The Discovery, Now and Then, A Simple Twist of Fate, Free Willy 3, One True Thing and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Cliff received a standing ovation at our May 11 anniversary concert, when he conducted Jerry Goldsmith's The Final Game, from RUDY.
