score! new i moved away up to the pacific northwest for a reason. just grabbed my seattle tickets! as a former detroiter i also find that a weird choice. nice to see there's still one michigander that might appreciate it!
Gee DMD come up to Detroit and see it at the Max with the DSO. Closer than flying to LA. I will be grabbing at least 2 tickets after payday. The DSO is hardly a surprising choice given that Leonard Slatkin is the music director/conductor of the DSO. Slatkin's family has a long Hollywood film music connection.
Curiously, the British concert dates all clearly state that Elfman will be conducting...but the Detroit, Vancouver, Seattle listings and links make no mention of the composer being involved. Quite honestly I'd be surprised if Elfman was conducting the whole tour, but I'd snap up Vancouver tickets in a heartbeat if it turns out that he is!

Does Elfman conduct?
I guess I assumed "performing with ___ orchestra" meant conducting but maybe it doesn't...
Can anybody throw us a bone here?
Edit: Never mind, I just clicked on the Royal Albert Hall link and found that John Mauceri conducts, and Elfman makes a special appearance. Hmmmmm....
I believe Elfman performs some of the songs? He is the singing voice of Jack Skellington, after all. It would be nice to know if he'll be attending any of the North American premieres.

I'm actually living in LA now Gary! So exciting sure hope it comes here.
The conductor of the DSO is renowned maestro Leonard Slatkin, who of course has family roots in Hollywood. While it's disappointing that Danny Elfman will not (apparently) be in attendance, and that Detroit can no longer boast the American premiere (with the addition of an LA concert on the 29th) I'm sure it will be a terrific show.
