I finally got around to cracking open my sealed Under Siege 2 score CD which I found last year in a local record shop. This score is awesome! It's only 30 minutes long, but every track is pretty fantastic. Goes to prove that sometimes, the tighter musical presentations work much better than the longer "complete" versions. Anyone else enjoy this score?

One of my favorite action scores. A complete version would be most welcome. Lots of good stuff was left off due to Varese's half-hour average running time back then. The CD's like an appetizer. smile

This and Switchback are little gems! Bring them on.

Absolutely...Poledouris was way on form with this one...and the CD, short though it is, is a little beauty...

...just a shame about the film!! wink

Much better score and infinitely better film.

The film looked lush and like a true top billing AAA-picture as opposed to nr. 1 which more looked like cheap. As a matter of fact it looked more like "a number 2".

This is soundtrack is in my top 5 of favourite Poledouris soundtracks and equally extremely addictive as "Conan the barbarian". I don't have all Poledouris' soundtracks but the ones I have make me realise every time what an extremely good composer Basil Poledouris is. "Under siege 2" is a total audio-rush.

Disco Stu.

Yeah, an awesome score. This expanded, please. There can´t be enough Poledouris around.

Not having seen the film for many years I watched it again a couple of days ago ... hopefully I shall know better next time!

The music score was okay~good (much better than modern day counterparts) but I've not gone out of my way to source a copy ... and I do have the majority of Mr. Poledouris's scores.

Mitch.

YOR has the complete score and, yes, it is very good indeed!

A complete oficial release, please?

Have to disagree with you there. 2 was better than it had any right to be, but 1 was taut and immensely entertaining. Also Tommy Lee Jones > Eric Bogosian. Agreed that 2 had a more cinematic look, but 1 was more of a claustrophobic, in-the-trenches kind of movie.

I adore this score as well. Pray that LLL releases it complete in its WB 90th anniversary line!

I'm a bigger fan of Gary Chang's cool Under Siege 1 score.

I'm a bigger fan of Gary Chang's cool Under Siege 1 score.

Me too, but I do wonder if it has something to do with Under Siege the movie being a hell of a lot better than the sequel which I've never been able to sit through. I wouldn't mind expanded versions of both scores!

Personally, I just like Chang's rockbased and contemporary style more than Poledouris' standard big orchestra score.

Yeah I think Chang's is the better fit for the series though it is mininal scoring at times, but I still like the effort Poledouris put in and this score is one that's been in demand for expansion ever since it was released.

I enjoy Under Siege 2 more than I do the original movie, but I will admit that Poledouris gave the film a better film score than it probably deserved. Under Siege 2 definitely would be a great expanded CD as would On Deadly Ground and any other Poledouris score.

I still have my 52 Pick-Up LP. I never bought the Firewalker vinyl, but I have the enjoyable end credits.
