He seems to be embarking on a tour of sorts. There are lots of concerts scheduled for Europe already next year (none in the UK yet, sadly).

Here are the confirmed European dates so far:

November 3rd: Kiev
November 8th: Minsk
November 13th and 14th: Moscow
December 10th: Sofia
February 4th: Paris
February 11th: Berlin
February 13th: Zurich
February 16th: Vienna
February 22nd: Istanbul
May 3rd: Amsterdam

I'm sure other cities will be added. Will he really turn up to all these? Seems to be a very hectic schedule for someone of his age.

Another world tour??
The old fella should be writing and resting - and figuring how how he can release all his own unreleased italian Tv scores through a label of his own!!!

Concerts in Europe have been plentiful and legendary. Arenas of enormity have been filled around the world by him. But here in America he has done two concerts on the east coast and that is it (albeit at the enormous Radio City Music Hall and a groundbreaking historic concert at the UN!).

His attempt at the Hollywood Bowl before sold only a third of that venue and was cancelled under iffy circumstances. Admittedly a third of the Bowl is a not-a-shabby 6000 seats and they did that one on extremely short notice. Added to that it was not part of the subscription series which John Williams and many others have the benefit from, including a whole summer of sales.

So I hope this one has a better lead time to build up sales and give him the audience he deserves.

Can't they put "composer of Quentin Tarantino movies" on the poster to draw a bigger crowd in L.A. ? wink

Over here in Belgium, the concert last year in Antwerp sold out early and the organizer arranged for extra seats because demand was so high. The concert was eventually attended by 16,000 people. I had a memorable time and hope to see him do many more. I think it would be special to attend a concert of his in Rome, such a beautiful and lively city.

Francis you must if you get the chance. Santa cecilia is a fabulous venue. and Rome is well,.. what the word awesome should be saved for.
i suspect he may do more and more closer to home in the coming years although clearly his world domination hasnt quite finished yet!!
im just concened after what happened not so long ago that he ends up pushing himself too far.

I hope he actually shows up this time. Last Bowl concert was the same night as U2. Gave my ticket away, only for Ennio to cancel as he's wont to do, and was left holding the bag. I'd still love to know the real dealio why that last show was cancelled, and to be assured it won't happen again. At least U2 doesn't appear to be playing the same night, whenever it's going to be smile

Hmm, Ennio Morricone in LA. That rings a bell. Let me see... I have incredibly fond memories of a concert with Stu Phillips and Bear McCreary. And a $9.30 parking/shuttle bus voucher for Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 6:00PM to the Hollywood Bowl that Ticketmaster never refunded.

NY is about 2600 miles closer to me than LA so I just might be dumb enough to try this again if that location is indeed on the agenda.

When are the concerts?

Since he has a concert in Chile Nov. 24 in between Moscow Nov. 14 and Bulgaria Dec. 10, I'd say between those latter two dates, close to his date in Chile. Otherwise it would be quite aways off.

I am only guessing.

I made it to Morricone's wonderful New York City concert at Radio City Music Hall. Even my wife and daughter had a great time at that one.

I'd sure go again. Wonder if he'll play the same selections or go with different ones?

"As a special bonus, Morricone will also perform Metallica's 'The Ecstasy of Gold' in this concert" big grin

In contrast to that, I seen him in concert a few years ago in Belfast with full orchestra and choir in an arena that seats only 1400. That was a fantastic evening, and I much preferred seeing him in that setting than in a vastly larger venue.

Hopefully, I bought ticket for the Berlin performance. So he better be there!
