Hey folks..Anyone heard anything about a soundtrack just coming out from the old horror flick EVILSPEAK?
That company ArkSquare are advertising something about buying 4 Horror Blu-rays and getting a copy of the 'world premier' release of the EVILSPEAK soundtrack.
As the Blu-rays are Japanese releases with hefty price tags, its not really an option to go for the deal.

Say WHAAAAAA? This soundtrack is one of my holy grails, but after speaking to the composer he said he thought the tapes to be lost as I recall. Thanks for the heads up, heading to ArkSquare now.

Okay I'm stumped. Where does it mention Evilspeak? And do you know if this CD will ever become more widely available?

Is this legit? Arksquare carries a fair number of bootlegs. Buyer beware...

Hi mate....if you do a search in new releases for something like Tourist Trap, it comes up with a blu ray. Reading the details of the Tourist Trap blu ray states 'if you buy 4 horror blu rays you get the world premier cd of the Evilspeak soundtrack'.
Ive e-mailed them to ask about just buying the cd . Haven't heard back yet but they're usually pretty good at replying to questions.

Just a wee update for Pooter ( or anyone else that loves this great wee score).
I received a reply from Arksquare and apparently this is a bonus cd disc provided by the Japanese company manufacturing the horror Blu-rays. Its one of these 'mail in the three coupons ( one from each disc)' deals and you get the bonus CD.
I'm pretty gutted as the prices of the Japanese Blu's are about $49 each which would make this a hell of an expensive soundtrack! No way i can afford that even though I like the range of films in the offer.

Thanks for this information Spook, albeit disappointing. Especially when they don't seem to be offering any information on running times, sources or tracklists for the CD. An intriguing prospect, but I'm not sure I can spend such a lot of cash for this one CD, especially without much knowledge of it. Still though, interesting to see that they have put together a score from this. Hopefully it might see a more widespread release in time. I think its a fantastic horror soundtrack from a very underrated film.

The company that is releasing these Blu-rays does not seem to release EVILSPEAK on blu-ray.
How should they have gotten any tapes, rights then ??

So has there been any advance on the Evilspeak soundtrack release?

Ah Pooter...my heart jumped when i saw this thread resurrected but i see you're having as much luck as I am!
I contacted ARK SQUARE that had offered the deal with the Blu Rays in the first place but they were only the middle man. So far no sign of a separate release and I'm not forking out the small fortune it would cost to buy four Japanese Blu-Rays to qualify for the offer. I've even asked around some of the Blu-Ray forums but no one has spoken up about going for the offer.I wish i could have heard from someone that actually had the cd. I see Scream Factory in the US are bringing out the Blu-Ray but no mention of anything offered for the score.
:-(

So there still seems to be no sign of The Evilspeak soundtrack though someone on Youtube claims to have uploaded ’the 12th track from the soundtrack'. Hmmmm. When will this become a reality?

OK bootleg hunting then, sorry but if this is the only way...

Not much joy there either sadly. I can't believe there's a supposed cd out there of this and it's so hard to get any info about . Much as I want it, there's no way I'm paying the steep prices for 3 Japanese horror blu rays just to qualify for the offer. I can't even find anyone on any forum I've checked that has one to verify what it's like.

So, three years on...is there any sign of an Evilspeak release?

Is there even a demand for it?

As I noted in my Letterboxd review, I can only imagine that Jerry Goldsmith a) was a gentleman about the whole thing or b) just didn't care that Roger Kellaway's score is a rip-off of The Omen. For God's sake, he didn't even have the decency to change the Latin words chanted by the choir!

A few weeks ago EVILSPEAK was released here in Germany on blu-ray and one of the extras is an isolated music & effects track !! Better than nothing and several sequences have so few sound effects that listening is 'great' fun - especially at the finale in the church.

Too bad that no label seem to be able or interested to release this gem.
