Great interview thanks for sharing. Loved MOS. A shame he feels the need to explain that it IS a different Superman. No idea what the haters were expecting. He crafted a brilliant score for this verson of Sups.

You know, you can turn down a film once in awhile Hans. Businessman mentality, never turn down work. Maybe his RCP members end up getting the projects he doesn't want and he sells these new composers to the director.

Please no more superhero scores. Anyone else burnt out?

Music that's actually interesting, perhaps.

Interesting interview. Thanks for posting it.

I struggle with the whole idea of putting Batman and Superman together. Maybe it will work and maybe it won't. I don't know if Man Of Steel made a ton of money. I know I didn't care for it. So I wonder if the producers were afraid to make another Superman movie as a stand alone. Maybe they thought a pairing would increase audience interest. Maybe not.

I just can't see the combination. To me Batman has a lot of gimmicks (weapons and cars, etc.) that allow him to take down the bad guys, but he doesn't have any super powers like Superman. In a one-to-one contest, Batman would lose. They both seem to have a good moral center but for that is all I can see that they have in common. Superman would carry all the "heavy lifting" for sure. I still think this is a gimmick to pull in more viewers, but maybe it will be a decent movie.

I never get burned out on super hero music if it is good.

Batman and Superman have teamed up in the comics and various animated series many times. They are part of a group called The Justice League.I think its about time it happened on screen.Batman and Superman actually did fight each other in Frank Millers The Dark Knight Returns. ( Bats was wearing a super powered exo suit during the fight).

As to your question as to what chance would a human being like Batman have against Superman.Supes may have the powers, but Bats has superior intelligence and who says he hasnt got soome Kryptonite stahed away somewhere in the batcave...

Update:

Zimmer said about scoring SUPERMAN VS. BATMAN, "Honestly, I'm just sort of grappling with that right now. Quite seriously, the thought right now is that no, I don't want to go and take what I did with Chris and just plonk it into another movie. There isn't one good reason to do it, and there are so many good reasons not to do it."

Zimmer appears to be weary of doing sequels, "I didn't really enjoy myself much on Pirates 4...I really enjoyed working with Zack Snyder, so part of it would be a personal decision. At the same time, I wouldn't want to put the ideas I used in the Chris Nolan Batman movies into a Superman movie. It just wouldn't feel right."

It would be a bold choice if Zimmer would just turn down some blockbusters and do something smaller.

"Smaller" as in -- pretentious exploitative slave-porn Oscar bait "12 Years A Slave"?

Zimmer got it all figured out. Paychecks and kool credits, he's gotta have them all!

Don't give Hans any ideas -- if he sees that, he'll score a Pokemon movie.

Sequels to his own scores, I think he means.

Maybe he'll decide that it needs to sound nothing like Batman or MoS and we'll get something cool. Wow, I'm an optimist.

Isn't that what he does anyway? Most of his scores sound the same to me.
