Rollerball, Rollerball, Rollerball...

Classic epic. Violent, important, and very entertaining. The DVD commentary by the director was good as well. One of my favourite movies of all time.

If you want to see a truly exciting classic film about the rescue of great art from the Nazis, the Burt Lancaster film, The Train, is the one to see. It's the last black & white major WWII adventure. They used all full sized trains, no CGI in those days. Frankenheimer recorded an excellent commentary on the DVD. Hope it's ported over to the TT release.

Good score by Maurice Jarre. Hope it's on an isolated track.

I'd give that honor to IN HARM'S WAY (1965), KING RAT (1965), or IS PARIS BURNING? (1966), despite a few minutes of color footage at the end. But THE TRAIN is the best film IMO.

Nothing for me in that list, & at just over $40 delivered, it has to be a must have. But now they're releasing United Artists movies, I'm sure they'll be something by the end of the year.

Two films on that list are very odd:

RESURRECTED (1989)
THE FIRM (2009)

It doesn't appear as if either one of those British films ever had a U.S. theatrical release, or a U.S. DVD release. I wonder what Twilight Time figures the Blu-ray market for those films to be?

Gotta love the Duke in London, helped by Richard Attenborough & Judy Geeson! But I just don't love it enough to pay Twilight Time prices for itfrown

I thought I'd be buying some Twilight Time Blu's after they started releasing United Artist movies, but nothing yet, I'd bite for:

The Vikings
The Hound Of The Baskervilles
Jack The Giant Killer
Taras Bulba
Irma La Douce
Tom Jones
What's New Pussycat
A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum
The Charge Of The Light Brigade

And Sony

The Long Ships
Lord Jim
A Man For All Seasons

Oh well, let's see what the end of the year bringssmile

dear Cinemascope - those are all great choices !(though probably I'd have to pass on Pussycat + Baskervilles - for economic reasons!) I d love to have all those others plus for good measure, a restored BARABBAS + SOLOMON AND SHEBA .

I agree that those are all good choices from MGM/UA, although I have no problem with Brannigan, Radio Days, or even Follow That Dream (for Elvis fans). The Secret of Santa Vittoria is another matter.

Maybe MGM/UA has Blu-ray plans of their own for some of the films mentioned above. I think that the Best Picture-winning Tom Jones is most likely for an MGM release. Some additional UA films I'd like to see on Blu-ray:

The Pride and the Passion (from VistaVision elements; the DVD wasn't even anamorphic)
Legend of the Lost (like The Vikings, a Technirama film; It's already on Blu-ray in Germany)
The Unforgiven
Exodus (available as an expensive Australian import)
The Alamo
Judgment at Nuremberg (the DVD is non-anamorphic)
A Shot In the Dark
The Satan Bug
The Hallelujah Trail
The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming
Hawaii
How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying
Women In Love
The Music Lovers
Man of La Mancha
Duck You Sucker
The Long Goodbye (available in Britain)
The Taking of Pelham 123
Breakheart Pass

And the lost Mister Moses smile
