I've been working too much recently, so forgive me if this has been covered as a topic. Can't keep track. Just off the top of my head, and as a Saturday night ramble, I have to say that I think Boorman's EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC is a much better film than Friedkin's THE EXORCIST. I'm not even going to try to justify that at this time of night. It's just that I've always been almost "irritated" by the Friedkin original, whereas the Boorman sequel is so full of wonderful ideas and sequences that it holds me spellbound. On its first release I watched it three times in one sitting. Went to the cinema mid-afternoon, got home about midnight. I don't expect anybody to agree with me on that, so what are yours?

I'll have to check out Boorman's Exorcist sequel again. It's been many years since I saw it, and I seem to recall thinking that I just love Boorman's work too much to be objective. I mean…I'm pretty much alone as far as I can tell, on being a fan of ZARDOZ. When I saw the title of this topic, I rushed right in to say this: I LOVE and ADORE Elaine May's ISHTAR!

Not quite what you might expect, but years ago as a kid, I saw a viking movie but can't remember that much about it. I can't even remember if it was a foreign language film that had been dubbed in english or even if it was a foreign film in english. There were a couple of friends in it. At some point one of them, or one of the characters in the film, ends up crucified to a wheel (palms down method). The other guy is seen running across a fortified wall shouting, "Gunther, Gunther . . ." or some such name. I've never come across this film since so consequently, almost everything about it is a vague (as you, no doubt, can see) memory. Does anyone know anything about this film - so that I don't feel so alone any longer?
