I've seen some pretty good ones, but am even more curious as to whether there are any fellow horror buffs or just anyone with some input!

Sometimes, the line between 'thriller' and 'horror' is blurry. But from looking at my list, I could mention these. I've put the borderline cases in parenthesis: (1. Elle) (2. Alien: Covenant) (3. Split) (4. Thelma) 5. The Autopsy of Jane Doe 6. Get Out (7. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter) 8. Creep 2 9. It Comes at Night (10. Prevenge) (11. Gerald's Game) 12. Before I Wake 13. It: Chapter One (14. The Vault) (15. The Untamed) (16. Life) The remaining horrors that I saw last year, I wouldn't recommend: DEATH NOTE, 47 METERS DOWN, THE LURE, MOTHER, TEMPLE I've seen Creep 2 and Gerald's Game and It Comes At Night, all of which were pretty darn good. You've given me ideas for searching out, thanks Thor!

Yeah, I loved the first CREEP, but I thought the second was even better! And that Mike Flanagan...I've liked pretty much everything he's done! He's on track to be the new big horror auteur, I think (especially if he lands that DOCTOR SLEEP gig that was in the news recently). That would be cool. You, me , and my s.o are all in agreement: as good as the first Creep was, 2 is better. But I'll be watching them both again soon

I am a big horror fan. I have only seen a few 2017 horror film releases. It: Chapter 1 was by far my favorite. Get Out is also quite good. I also enjoyed 1922 (fourth Stephen King adaptation of 2017). Despite the many positive reviews I didn't care for Gerald's Game. It was very well made and well acted, but I found it more disturbing (and not in a good way) than horrific, and the twist at the end just didn't work. Having Henry Thomas (Elliot from ET) playing the creepy dad didn't help.

Jeepers Creepers 3 - any good anyone? The second one was just plain, unself-conscious fun, the first a minor classic imo. Will check out the 3rd. I'm curious as to Annabelle's sequel, I liked the first one (too bad Bishara isn't scoring it). I obviously need to check out Get Out.

A warning to Anyone who is considering including, or has already included, IT; I have a special set of skills and I will hunt you down and kill you! You know...to me that book was during King's decline and I thought the same of the original movie. So I never even saw the remake...didn't thing the original was any good. And I am a HUGE fan of King from the early 70s up to and including Pet Sematary (that last might be his masterpiece).

Do any of these films sport the following credit: music by Christopher Young?

A warning to Anyone who is considering including, or has already included, IT; I have a special set of skills and I will hunt you down and kill you! Am I to assume you didn't care for it? It's not a good film, but it's not a bad film either. It's fairly middle-of-the-road, IMO. no. it. is . bad.
