I've been working my way through TOS season one and aside from enjoying many of these episodes more than I used to, (even "Miri" comes off as improved, but why couldn't the Trek "Blooper Reel" be included in this set?) I'm enjoying the..."scenery." Any favorites among the 1960s Trek characters?

"What are Little Girls Made Of?" was on TV Land last night. I always like Kellerman in the second pilot.

Took the plunge and bought ST:TOS ($130.00 at Barnes & Noble) It's good to see these old shows uncut for a change. I'm working my way through Season One and had a "Wow!" moment upon seeing the lovely "Andrea" for the first time since I don't know when. Good episode, and it's interesting to watch the characters develop so quickly in terms of the Kirk/Spock/McCoy friendship. I get the impression that Bones wasn't supposed to be a part of that, but the on-air chemistry is evident (duh!).

BTW, Wikipedia refers to Sherry Jackson as "the sexually appealing android."big grin

They didn't come better on classic Trek than Mariette Hartley's Zarabeth, as far as I'm concerned. smile

Still thinking of that bellydance, are you?wink I have a ways to go before I get to season three, a much-maligned time, but I actually liked the blue writing, not to mention the season as a whole. I figure if there hadn't been a third season, the syndication wouldn't have been possible, or at least as widespread.

I remember the camera ads she did with James Garner. Which brand was that? Nikon? It's not on Youtube.

Angelique Pettyjohn boobs a poppin' in that revealing silver outfit (Kirk's "drill instructor") from "Gamesters of Triskellion " went into the porno industry in the mid 80's before she died later from cancer.

(That episode is really weird to watch now.)

Actually, I was thinking of Zarabeth long before she did the bellydance, but because she was Zarabeth, that's how I knew she was perfectly suited for the Columbo bellydance scene. big grin

The ads were Polaroid. They were so popular that she took to wearing a t-shirt that said, "I am NOT Mrs. James Garner!" in public.

Perfect caption for this image, in which Spock sees Zarabeth removing her parka to reveal her only slightly more conservative than Raquel Welch cavegirl attire. "Fascinating!" big grin

Runner-up for me would be Diana Ewing as the cloud dwelling Droxine in "The Cloud Minders." (I seem to prefer the ones Spock had a fancy for!)

Funny, but my lasting memory of "All Our Yesterdays" was Spock treating Bones like crap!

Mariette DOES look fetching in her rags, however.

Perhaps spurred by the remasters and the anniversary, I've been going through the original series (in sequence, unlike the remasters of course) myself over the past couple months; I finished the first season a while ago and am working on the second, though I took a bit of a break after "The Trouble With Tribbles." Next up, "Bread and Circuses" (I'm going by production order, not airdate). It's been a blast watching the show again; I've been finding my general Trek enthusiasm at higher levels than it's been in years.

Sorry, but when Leslie Parrish escaped Dogpatch, U.S.A., to play Lt. Carolyn Palomas in Who Mourns for Adonaïs, Star Trek reached its unquestioned pulchritudinous zenith.

I'm with you, Joe. I was so sick and tired of truncated/butchered/edited/whatever episodes of TOS (can't they just call it "Star Trek"?!?wink) and have really been enjoying these nice looking (dig the multi-colored lighting effects on the Enterprise living quarters and the "caverns" in "WALGMO?") "The Enemy Within" also thrills and entertains, if only for Shatner's explosions and that outfitted "alien animal" (dog).

I've never seen a single episode of the original STAR TREK series in my life, but I would agree that the woman in the first post looks gorgeous.

Diana Ewing-Droxine

Kate Woodville-Natira

Kate's other claim to fame was being the doomed fiancee of Dr. David Keel in the first episode of "The Avengers." She was then married to Patrick Macnee at the time of Trek, and after their divorce, then married Edward Albert who just passed away.

Apparently she was on Make Room For Daddy as a child, but she sure matured nicely! She also has some "quality" TV credentials on stuff like Wild, Wild West and Barnaby Jones...

Thor, you've NEVER seen an episode of the original Trek? Wow! Can a "Losing My Trek Virginity" thread be far behind?

Sherry was the eldest daughter on Make Room For Daddy. She left after six seasons in 1959, but not before Angela Cartwright (Lost In Space) had joined the cast as the youngest daughter.

Ironically, Sherry also appeared on a first season LIS in one of the worst B/W episodes, where she was a space hillbilly and Mercedes McCambridge her mom. She was also a moll of Riddler's in a first season "Batman."
