Beautiful movie penned by one of the greatest french screenwriters and dialoguists, Michel Audiard (Jacques Audiard's father) :
And so, the question is : is the english translator in charge of the english subtitles skilled enough to capture the essence of these brilliant lines ? Audiard's dialogues are always vivid, full of figurative expressions that are a nightmare to render into a foreign language for a translator. Actually, this should be the perfect job for a "real" writer.
So, after having expressed those reservations, I can't recommend enough this moving and powerful action drama movie which is one of the best french movies.
