According to Wikipedia, Richard Benjamin and Paula Prentiss have been married since 1961. It was the first marriage for both of them and they're still married. Celebrities aren't supposed to do that; I wonder what happened. They've been married 52 years, despite that their series "He & She" lasted for only one season, even though it won an Emmy, and cries out for a D.V.D./Blu Ray release.

Both Hammer stars had a straightforward marriage life. CHRISTOPHER LEE, been married to his mate for decades, still going strong, he is 91, his wife in her 80's and PETER CUSHING was married only once till his wife died in 71.Yes it is hard in the entertainment business as we know on this board to be able to keep one marriage go on for decades , most have not but at the same time a bunch have.

Sam Elliott and Katherine Ross have been married a long time. So have Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. I remember seeing Benjamin and Prentiss sitting together at a big screening at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York; might have been for BARRY LYNDON. My older brother was a film critic in those days, and got me into any number of great screenings. My brother always said that Prentiss deferred her career to that of her husband, which was a shame, because she was by far the better actor. Wonderful at comedy. Remember her in THE WORLD OF HENRY ORIENT? In her early days, she got cast with Jim Hutton a couple of times, and people remarked on their chemistry together, such as in WHERE THE BOYS ARE. She was good at drama too; remember her as the desperate newsperson in THE PARALLAX VIEW?

Sam Elliott and Katherine Ross have been married a long time. So have Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. Although Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn have been together for 30 years, they've never been married. There are other long-unmarried celebrity couples: Jane Fallon and Ricky Gervais - 30 years Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham - 25 years Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt - 15 years Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova - 10 years Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt - 8 years

Reading this thread caused me to think about Richard Benjamin. I remember the TV series He & She, which I enjoyed, but it didn't last long. The next time I saw Richard was in Goodbye, Columbus. I was 16 at the time, and found it fascinating that a geeky guy like Benjamin could snag the hotter-than-hot Ali MacGraw. Next was Catch-22, and then in 1970 came an amazing film called Diary Of A Mad Housewife. At age 17, I was entranced by this film. Carrie Snodgress was a revelation, Frank Langella equally so, and Richard Benjamin gave the performance of his entire career. I know I haven't seen everything he's done, but Diary at the very least has to be a tremendous highlight for him as an actor. What has happened to this movie? I tried to get it from NetFlix last year, and they don't even know it exists. After reading this thread, I went to YouTube and found it there. The only way to see it is in a horrible VHS transfer of the original theatrical version, but it is well worth suffering through the awful quality. It has to be the very best film Frank & Eleanor Perry ever made, and Benjamin is fantastic!

TO RICHARD welcome to the you tube universe where all souls can be saved searching for a film that can't be found anywhere else, but can be found in the YOU TUBE church. We lovers of film don't care too much what the quality of our beloved film is being shown because we know the thing that matters most is the substance the soul of the film itself. The plot the words, the acting, THE MEANING.CHRIS you and I know when we were young how did we see films? on old 12 inch black and white TV sets, where we played with the rabbit ears to get the ghosts out of the picture. Remember that anarchism word GHOSTS,in reference to the picture on your TV set. But let me ask you CHRIS, we saw all of these old films this way, didn't we. We loved them and to this day still think they were great because of how we saw these films years ago. So what does that say? God bless YOU TUBE AND THEIR FILMS. IT IS FOR THE REAL MOVIE LOVER.Not the picky fabricated viewer who cares more about the presentation then the essence of the art form itself. They don't love film, they love topical gadgets.

If you love a person it does not matter how that person is dressed, how good looking they are. How big they are. How much they weigh. How old they are or how young.. Why should it be any different with a song, a piece of music a film or anything.
