One tough movie. Directed by Robert Aldrich, it also had Lee Marvin in it.
Not only Lee Marvin, but Richard Jaeckel, too. Ten years before Aldrich directed The Dirty Dozen.
Attack is a great little unsung war movie. Everyone in it is good. Eddie Albert is so good as the craven coward, Captain Cooney, you can't wait for someone to put a bullet into him.
William Smithers, Buddy Ebsen, and I'd forgotten Strother Martin was in it.
I remember years ago when I was a kid, my father thought it was so gruesome when one of the tanks crushed a soldier. Little did he know how violence and blood would soon be everywhere on film.
