I had another Williams-related dream last night. I dreamt I was at the AFI reception for him (which is being held next year in real life), and I was allowed backstage. Somehow, I got the opportunity to take a picture with myself, Williams and Spielberg (it's been a lifelong dream to meet one of these idols of mine, much less both at the same time), but as the picture was taken, two people jumped up behind us and photobombed the picture -- Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio, making funny faces. I remember being annoyed by how they ruined my unique moment, even if it had probably been the fan shot of the year in real life. Hilarious.

James Horner was taking me on vacation in his private jet. For some reason he refused to fly over the skyscapers of downtown Houston, so he landed in the street (ala OCTOPUSSY)!!!!! Also has a Goldsmith dream recently. I asked him his favorite classical music piece to play - after first telling him "I know you get asked this question all the time" Freud calling bruce

For some reason he refused to fly over the skyscapers of downtown Houston, so he landed in the street (ala OCTOPUSSY)!!!!! 'Reminds me very much of a dream I had ages ago where I was a passenger in a plane that was attempting a landing in a main street in Liverpool but had to negotiate the spire of a large cathedral. That one had more layers than is at first obvious. By the looks of it, since Horner has 'passed over', he represents a link with the transcendent world, a psychopomp. Except he's trying to bring you safely down to earth possibly against modernity inflated. Alas, that didn't happen for himself in the real world. Isn't Houston an oil town?: a powerhouse, and of course a link to space. The heavens feature in this four times: Horner, the plane, skyscrapers, and the space centre. Safe landings seem to be the issue.

Strangely, when I posted the above on a smartphone, the following was added accidentally (which I deleted on edit): I Mom. Now that ought to be mentioned as some sort of possible Freudian slip. I dunno. Think Jung before Freud.

Earlier this week: I'm helping Laurence Rosenthal write his last film score, to an animated film. He's also doing some of the animation himself. Oddly, it's the 45-year-old LR that I'm helping. Last night: I'm David Raksin's personal assistant, cleaning his kitchen and cooking. I decided not to cook the beef in the fridge, which was melting, but was going to do something with the the chicken. I get back to the kitchen later and Raksin has already laid out some tortillas with Mexican cheese and epazote on top, and has started a chicken stew to fill the tortillas. I hit the gauge wrong on his 190 year old wood-burning stove, and one of the pots, the one with flowers cooking, overheats and the flower pop like popcorn. Raksin seethes at my clumsiness.

Anyway...the reason I checked out this thread is that Morricone appeared to me in a dream last night. He was happily signing and writing messages (in Italian) and putting little sketches on a series of CDs that I was handing to him. Then he frowned at one with a homemade cover that I accidentally picked up, so I decided to go and find other things for him to sign. I went into our living room and was picking out blurays and Mrs TG said dinner was ready, so I sat on the couch and ate it, oblivious to the fact that I had the Maestro waiting for me in another room. I eventually went back and he was signing some posters, which he must have brought with him because I don't collect such things. Segue to later that day, and we've organised a charity sale at our house, and all the signed posters have been included in the items for sale, so I had to rush around and retrieve them all and explain that they weren't really for sale. The best item was a huge, folded up Hateful 8 poster that he'd written quite a lot on, and it had been put for sale at a mere £25. I was appalled in my dream that it had been priced so low. Whassit all mean?!

I am constantly dreaming about movie theaters lately. Probably because in SF all the great first run houses are gone! I will never get used to this fact. ANyway, the Castro theater, a classic movie palace is still standing and many dreams take place inside there. Last nite, I dreamed that they sub-divided the entire building space into offices, except for the screening room. They even rented out the projection booth with the result being the projector was allocated a small space in the hallway where it beamed the picture thru a small hole in the wall!!!! Yikes! bruce

Is this the oldest thread on this board? what happened to parts 1-2A? One of the oldest, yes. The original "Weird Dreams" thread was posted on moviemusic.com (not by me!), back when FSM people had migrated there after millennium turnover issues at FSM. This would be early 2000. Then "Part 2" was posted at the refurbished FSM site on September 1, 2000. However, just one month later, they refurbished again (into its current format), so I had to re-post, calling it "Part 2B". Sadly, the moviemusic.com board was disbanded a few years ago, so no way to access the original thread now. But I seem to remember Howard L having discovered a back door link to the ol' board. If so, I'll let him chime in.
