La-La Land was featured in a new article on Forbes.com (!) covering the Star Trek TOS boxset.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/toddgilchrist/2014/04/30/la-la-land-star-trek-soundtrack-original-series/

And before anyone asks, the article ends with this hint of things to come:

"We’re prepping our usual eclectic slate of film/TV and videogame cd soundtracks, both current and archival. Some exciting box sets are on the horizon, not to mention some long-requested archival releases from John Williams and others. We recently let loose our first digital-download-only release, so we’re always exploring just about anything as we look toward the future, be it CD, digital, vinyl, or 8-Track. Well… maybe not 8-Track."

Wow, I wonder what box sets are coming? I mean, we know Enterprise and Voyager are coming, but I'd assume those were 3 disc sets, not "box sets" (MV said somewhere he only considers something with 5+ discs a "box set", apart from the X-Files sets because Vol 1 shipped in a box)

hmm... this is getting me very curious. Since Archival releases are usually Warner Bros related (right?), can we expect BORN ON THE 4TH OF JULY, EMPIRE OF THE SUN or finally a decent and definitive re-re-re-re-re-re-re-reissue of WITCHES OF EASTWICK?

"Well… maybe not 8-Track."

the nice thing about 8-track is the endless loop playback.

MV has posted on this board before that they cannot do anything with Witches of Eastwick until the Perseverance LP re-issue sells out (or their license expires), unfortunately.

My money is on Empire Of The Sun, because no one can remember what music is even missing from that one.

Hey now, one of the best cues from the movie ("I can bring everyone back, everyone") is missing from the album. I'd also be interested in getting this one as a film score presented as a film score and not a John Williams album. Just personal preference.

It certainly sounds like EOTS is finally on deck, although don't forget WB's elephant in the room - A.I.

I bet they're going to release an expanded DRACULA.

That's been discussed for a long time.

There are two John Williams albums scheduled for this year. One was delayed from last year- should materialise any time now or in between summer

So, is the Addam's Family by Marc Shaiman the 300th release? I see it in the 300 releases pic at the bottom amongst this year's releases, but I don't remember it being released.

No, the 300th release was Stepford Wives.
From FB:
While it's catalog # is 1299, Stepford Wives is technically our 300th release because of the Star Trek TOS box set. That release is a special catalog# of 1701, so when you add that to the other 299 titles in our catalog you get 300!

Oh, and for your "eagle eyes" out there you might notice a title we haven't announced yet.

So happy 300 to us! (at least until catalog #1300 comes out)

I think this is a great niche market. Very untapped, many holy grails still out there and profitable. With FSM, No one else is doing and its very popular.

You have not been keeping Track? That's not like you. I've been updating this status since december. MV had informed us on various times that one John Williams title was part of the Black Friday schedule but because of Williams The Book Thief release schedule it had to be deffered as Williams was busy and could not approve the album hence it got pushed this year. " One of the.most beautiful scores by John Williams " as quoted by MV in one of his face book updates as well. In an online recorded interview with MV and Matt it was hinted on 2 John Williams upcoming projects. I think I posted that on the JW fan message board as well. Now as to what these titles are..is an exciting exercise on its own.
