Ordered (of course) along with Jaws 2.

I really like that Intrada included the original LP cover art.

I normally order new releases through The Movie Music Store or SAE to avoid the CA tax, but not this time, I ordered immediately through Intrada. I want this baby asap! Tax be damned!

Thanks Intrada!!!

Why do some say "film version" when there is no alternative?

Maybe to prevent confusion between tracks on other discs and releases?

I've ALWAYS wondered that. Does that mean that the other tracks are NOT the film version?

Just guessing, but since cues are sometimes abbreviated or otherwise edited during the post-production process, perhaps the "film version" descriptor is used to signify a cue that is being presented as it was edited for the film vs. how it was originally recorded in the studio.

In any case, I'm extremely stoked for this release!

It still doesn't make any sense. Take for example:

Father And Son (Film Version)

You scroll down to "The Extras" section and there is no alternate there. Disc two doesn't count since that is a re-recording. Previously there has been no other release of the original score other than the Decca release from 2000:

Father And Son (03:43)
Previously unreleased; includes music not used in the film.

So either the Decca combined music from another cue or cues to extend it or Intrada cut it down (seems unlikely). But even then it still makes no sense. The wording it to help distinguish tracks on the release, not other label releases (that can just create a mess after all).

Maybe it's an error in the tracklisting, maybe the inclusion of an alternate was planned but dropped, who knows.

And of course the original score was remastered. Did anyboidy honestly think Intrada was going to use the inferior old Decca mastering? "Oh, they did another label's STV: TFF score!" -- you mean the one remastered by another label with modern technology which really had no more room for improvement? Come on. This was as obvious as "Did the sun rise and set yesterday?".

The Decca combined tracks that are mentioned here as "Film Version" such as 'Out To Sea'. Remember this was supervised by John Williams as well.

Father and Son was merged with The Alimentary Canal on the Decca version.

I noted a small mistake in the back cover. The source music totals aprox 11 min and it is written 14. I demand a reprint and a full refund!!! Just kiding...

All 4 Jaws scores released in these amazing editions is wonderful. I never liked the muffed, reverby/distorted sound of the Decca release. And having the album also remastered is a fantastic bonus. Thanks again Intrada!

Yay! Jaws is one of my very first CDs and I still love it. My father bought it for me along with the Star Wars Trilogy box in 1993 and I never got the Decca release or the Varèse McNeely recording. Can't wait to hear it with the new sound. Amazing release.

Ordered! Still awaiting my Jaws 2 (and others) order, but that's allright... Intrada doesn't combine orders do they?

Any chance we could get higher-res cover art? (it's the only nit-pic I have!)

What a year - the Jaws and BTTF series taken care of. And LLL's final batch still to come!

Indeed! I'm just waiting for the LLL announcement, then it'll be time to place a big order.
