Is that actually Peter Ustinov singing on "Quo Vadis", Disc Three, track 10, 'The Burning of Troy'? I know the liner notes mention that Ustinov 'barks' Nero's song later, as Rome burns in track 23, 'Nero's Fire Song', but the earlier song is very charming in a strangled kind of way, and I've never seen the film so I can't tell if it's him.

It certainly is Peter Ustinov and whilst filming in Rome, M-G-M sent him to the Opera House for singing lessons to enable him to perform those songs so splendidly.

Try these?

Awesome. I ordered from the second store (because it has the lower but still outrageous price). Now I get to wait for them to send me an email saying they don't have it and can't get it.

Any luck with that or am I still looking?

Got an email saying they're going to "special order" it for me.

I think you can pretty much give up now. No retailers are going to have them. The second hand market or here on the Trading Post (if anyone is crazy enough to part with theirs) are going to be your only options. You waited too long, time to move on.

Sunshine Superman is probably right. But there's one on eBay for [ahem] Price: US $499.99 / Approximately £316.13 if you really want one, can afford it, and not having one is adversely affecting others[!]. No, it is NOT mine.

Where's the link? Well I don't want to be responsible for an expensive knee-jerk, panicked decision which your wife[!] will regret. You'll have to search for it yourself...

This set has sold out at source and seemingly everywhere, though your website seems to imply all advertised items are in stock. Now, I was one of the fortunate few to get one of the last from FSM distributors (and financial backers) Screen Archives Entertainment, but there are many Rózsa fans on FSM's forum desperate for this title, so may I suggest that, if you DO have it, you could post this on the relevant thread here http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=66835 and it/they can be sold to persons who are more likely genuine music lovers than eBay resellers. I was going to post a link to your page myself, but I'm embarrassed enough, sending folk on wild goose chases. Thank you, from Duncan (FSM forum user and a lucky owner of this box set).

So w-dervish, you were not the one that I sold my Rosza set to? Interesting. Now I have some investigating to do. With everything the guy said, I figured it was you and I sent the set out this morning, sorry. I did not make the connection that you just want the Rosza set, I several set and a few few singles.

I have been selling off my FSM releases and I was contacted by a few people that wanted to know if I had certain titles, one of them was the Rosza set that you wanted. With the way he was talking, I figured it was you, so I sold it to that person along with some other items. I just figured it was you, because he was saying that he missed out and can not find it and becuase he had a TN address, sorry.

It wasn't me. When responding to posts on the FSM message board I always include my FSM user ID so people know who they are dealing with. If it had been me you would have been sure and not have had to "figure".

I'm still looking for the Rozsa Treasury. If anyone has it and want to either sell or trade, contact me at dkfz@yahoo.com.

Traders can see what I have available here...

I'm also looking for some of the Varese Family Dollar discs. My Trading Post posting can be viewed here...

I would. And tell him someone put a link on this board having been invited to do so himself. In fact tell him the whole e-mail including his reply. Then he might even find you a copy. It should be important to him as a film soundtrack specialist, particularly with the free advertising to just the kind of customers he wants...

I think this reviewer doesn't know what he's talking about. Some of the individual titles may be reissued, but there is a lot of content on this set I think won't ever be issued again. Also, Amazon might have something to say about this? I think they wouldn't be supportive of "reviews" that say "don't buy". If someone wants to pay $799.99, that's their decision.

Although I wouldn't pay it, and have no idea if there is anyone who would (since the price is ridiculous).

Not sure, someone buyed near 2900$ recently on Ebay a first édition of the Elfman/Burton box.
Collectors are collectors and the Rozsa Box will certainly be one in some years...

11/19/13:

By popular demand, we went through and counted up our leftover parts for this and manufactured what was missing to create another—and final, this time it really will be final—300 units. Going once, going twice...

http://www.screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm/ID/13181/MIKLOS-ROZSA-TREASURY-2000-EDITION/

In case this is not quite clear, when we manufacture the box sets—or any product, for that matter—we don't get exactly the number of units requested. The manufacturer(s) make an overrun of the various parts (discs, booklets, boxes) due to the inevitable "spoilage" during the printing, pressing and assembling processes. We had leftover parts and we ordered enough of what we were missing to finish this off... This time, though, it really is "all gone" after these units sell out.

Lukas
