Hot on the heals of Daredevil I'm watching Jessica Jones, which I'm finding a little dull by comparison, apart from nasty David Tennant.

Things are brightened up by my finally catching up with three DCs: Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl. I'm finding the latter two more fun, so I'll be through them before I even get to the end of Arrow's first season.

Is this "Arrow" character a renamed version of DC's grouchy, mouthy, and otherwise atitudinous "Green Arrow" who played in the DC Universe for decades? If it is, why did they drop the "Green"?

'Fraid so. Annoying isn't it? And the image of 'the hooded man', which appeared in the comics, I feel came from the (imho) the best tv Robin Hood, Robin of Sherwood starring Michael Praed and later Jason Connery.

Only seen two episodes so far but it's ok. The other two are somewhat lighter and a little more fun, but I'll get through it all I'm sure.

I tried watching an episode of that new Flash series--there's one where he fights GREEN Arrow--but the whole thing was done in when they cut to some nerd characters in what had to be one of the most annoying "Mary Sue" moments I've ever seen. Awful.

Gomorra, series 2, utterly riveting.

Billions, very good. Succinctly-written, one or two vomit-inducing moments and dialogue but largely superb. A world of stocks and shares skullduggery. Dallas without the oil!

Peaky Blinders, series two, excellent bbc period drama about midlands gypsy family/gang, with razors in the peaks of their caps, hence Peaky blinders. Godfather meets gypsies.

Bates Motel

Season 4 just wrapped. Wow. A brilliant show capped by the fabo Vera Fermiga as Normans mother Norma. And the series ended quite shockingly. I have no idea if it will be back next year or not. But Vera's absence of not getting an Emmy is a travesty.

Supergirl and The Flash are terrific, although Private Eye seems to disagree - (not quite as fond of Arrow and Legends Of Tomorrow suffers from caracter balance problems).

Look forward to the blanned fourway crossover. If t they manage to a meeting between Kara and Felicity you will hear my delighted squeeing wherever you are in the world.

Quantico.... hmm....

Liv And Maddie

Been getting into this myself lately. The girl playing the title roles is good and the father's amusing, but every single other character is varying degrees of irritating.

Other shows:

Fresh Off the Boat
The Goldbergs
Blindspot
The Last Man on Earth
Bordertown (...well, I liked it)
Bob's Burgers
American Dad
Blackish
Supergirl

Watching the Megaset for SPACE: 1999...

Amazing how many impressive guest stars were featured on this show...

I thought I'd give the Megaset a chance as well. And yes, there are quite a few familiar faces that pop up, many of them future "Star Wars" actors. I'm only 15 episodes in, and already the following have appeared:

Peter Cushing (Grand Moff Tarkin)
Christopher Lee (Count Dooku)
Julian Glover (General Veers)
Michael Culver (Captain Needa)
Brian Blessed (Boss Nass)

The show itself is strange, to say the least. I've always liked Martin Landau though....

I was watching a few episodes on YT and the only guest star in one episode was "Dave Prowse". But the only character in the story was a tall robot/fish creature. I assume it was thee David Prowse.

Dove Cameron is cute but I found the show unwatchable.

"Stuck in the Middle" is the best show on Disney. Feels like a network series. Very amusing family comedy with generally above average acting for a Disney show. Sets and clothing look normal not glamorized, outside scenes filmed outdoors, and get this, NO laugh track!

Am very eager for the return of The Americans in March.

I love that show and am also really looking forward to its return. It’s one of the most brilliantly crafted "slow burn" series in quite some time.

As for now, I haven’t been watching much of anything on TV. I’m waiting for Veep and the aforementioned The Americans to return. I am tuned into Portlandia, an endearing comedy on the Portland culture.

The Americans has been excellent this season, just superb. With a few shocking moments that the showrunners of The Walking Dead need to study.

Just finished season 3 of Game Of Thrones. Solid stuff, but the nudity and sex are ridiculous. Nothing is gained from these scenes that couldn't be expressed another way, it's really just "hey, we're on pay cable! " Saw an interview with the showrunners where they admitted using these scenes as "sexposition" : exposition scenes that they feared would be boring so they distract you with sex.

It's not that I'm a prude, but there's a way to handle such scenes. Like, with violence and language, you have Goodfellas, then you have Scarface.

But overall, am enjoying GoT a lot .

A friend recommended the Archer cartoon series, but after a few episodes it felt like it was the same thing every episode. Pass.

And the graphic violence isn't?

Dove Cameron is definitely is good value on the show, and elsewhere (Descendants*). I do wonder if any studio would really hire Garry Marshall to direct something called Space Werewolves?

*The Disney Channel movie, not the one with George Clooney and Shailene Woodley.

I do agree that a supporting cast can annoying... and like Scorpion and 7th Heaven, why does the main character have a sibling of a completely diffferent ethnicity although they're supposed have the same genes?

At least the ridiculousness has good production values, the substance of a veggie burger, with a nasty aftertaste, but at least it looks good.

What else are you gonna watch on Sunday night, repeats of The Good Wife?

I just watched all 3 seasons of Brooklyn 99. It's fairly entertaining. Not laugh out loud comedy but decent enough. the structure reminds me of something like Corner Gas or Community. Andre Baugher is ace in it, too.

10 Cloverfield Lane. Worthy of its accolades. And not a hand-cam/found-footage thing, for those that may wonder.

Also cracked open the venerated The Night Stalker DVD. The special feature interview with Dan Curtis was far too short (15 minutes). Oh well.
