I posted comments on all the episode scores as well as FOX links. Check it out.

Looks like the episode count has been raised, for the second season, to fourteen episodes (I don't know if that includes the season one finale which was held off and will air in the second season). And that the show may make this Fall instead of 2019.

Seth said he doesn't want filler episodes and that the FX takes a long time. I understand the filler comment, but I don't get the FX comment. Shows like "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "SeaQuest" managed longer seasons with plenty of FX.

And FX has gotten cheaper and faster to make because of the technological improvements. Now, if he wants to argue it's taking longer because of practical effects (like real ship models, etc.), then I'll buy it and be patient; I'm so tired of these computer CGI effects dominating everything. Star Trek: Voyager" should have been called "Star Trek: CGI".

True BUT if you compare what's being done on THE ORVILLE and STAR TREK: DISCOVERY to what was done on STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION 30 (or even 24) years ago, it's a world of difference. For one, VFX are now produced in HD instead of standard def, and that aside there are generally a lot more of them per episode and they are required to do much more heavy lifting. I watched an episode of TNG last year while I was in the middle of DISCOVERY and I was shocked by how sparse and primitive the VFX are by today's standards. There would be long, talky scenes in Picard's ready room with a practical star field out the window and a fairly low number of cuts versus what is in vogue now. Something like DISCOVERY isn't like that... there are always view screens and CG enhancements, set extensions, and all sorts of other VFX happening in virtually every shot of every scene, many of which are not even that perceptible. I don't necessarily think that all that work makes the episodes better - and that seemed to be your point as well! - but the overall message is that these shows are very different animals than they used to be, even when something like THE ORVILLE attempts to emulate the TNG look.

And we have a date: December 30 (Sunday) this year. IMDb actually shows two episodes airing on that date. Then it goes back to Thursday, so even if that info' of two episodes on one day is incorrect, we don't have to wait a week to get another one.

I have no idea where this image originated or if it's even legitimate, but I liked it:

One person who has not been spotted recently on set in Los Angeles is actress Halston Sage, who played Alara in the first season of The Orville. She did show up for the PaleyFest panel in March and at the Fox upfronts in May, along with other members of The Orville cast. However, earlier this month it was announced she had joined the cast of the Netflix romantic comedy film The Last Summer, which has been in production in the Midwest over the last month. At PaleyFest Sage did talk about shooting for season two, so she will appear in at least some episodes. And we know that Star Trek: Voyager actor Robert Picardo returned for the second episode of season two, again playing Alara’s father. However, clearly Sage cannot be in two places at once, shooting The Orville and The Last Summer in two different cities. So, it may be that her character will not appear for the entire second season. This may also be one of the reasons why Jessica Szohr joined the cast for the second season, playing a Xelayan security officer, like Sage’s Alara Katan. https://trekmovie.com/2018/06/26/orville-update-headed-to-sdcc-season-2-will-have-fewer-commercials-and-maybe-less-halston-sage/

Three months left until season two starts, with two episodes.

Gee, it sure would be nice to get a soundtrack release for season 1, and the start of season 2 would probably be the best time to do it... Yavar
