I was listening to BODY HEAT while driving around town today. Although the score was ideal for images of sunny, sultry Florida, I couldn’t help noticing how perfectly the music also suited cold, dull, rainy London.
Just an observation!
I was also reminded what an excellent score it is. John Barry's best? Maybe.
I've always loved John Barry's "Body Heat," and one of the things that introduced me to this site was when I was madly searching for the same version of "That Old Feeling" as heard during the meeting scene between William Hurt and Kathleen Turner, and I immediately bought the 2-CD version, even though I had long had the original soundtrack CD. Yes, it's perfect music for driving! As for "That Old Feeling," I had laboriously gone through about 400 recordings of it at the iTunes Store, but could never find just the right one -- some were close, but not quite the same. Years ago I had put the audio from the meeting scene onto CD, and would be happy to email it to you -- it would make a nice addition to a compilation CD of the music from that film. Let me know if you can receive music via email. I think you would enjoy it!
