Today, we've got a hurricane front for a change. It's called "Friederike" and has already killed a few people in its wake, uprooted trees and caused massive traffic problems, including cancelled flights and complete stop of all railroad traffic. That hail the other day sure looks nice now.

If you think it's cold where you live....

In Norway in the next few days, temperatures are expected to reach as low as -40C (-40F) certain places, and about -20C (-4 F) here in Oslo, where I live. Screw me!

Such temperatures are fortunately illegal in most countries.

That happened to us about 3 weeks ago. Minus 43 with windchill one night. It was brutal. I didn't leave the house for 3 days. Wrap up well, Thor.

It's actually about plus 2 allegedly but felt Minus 17. Huge snow expected Sunday and minus 10. Bah.

There is an article in our newspaper today that said Europe is colder today than the North Pole. It showed a picture of Pompeii, Italy with snow. It said the North Pole was above freezing, and that Norway was about minus 44 degrees. Now that is cold.

Today we are about 40 degrees here today. The problem is that we get a lot of wind which makes temperatures feel colder; however, overall we had a mild winter with only a dusting of snow.

I am ready for Spring!

It would be difficult to have a more beautiful day in Atlanta on the 3rd day of March than today. February was extremely warm here(warmest on record I believe) but was somewhat marred by constant cloud coverage and occasional rain. But today is cloudless sunshine and a high around 60 and will be so the whole weekend. Won't complain a bit.

Yup. Thankfully not that cold here in the capital of Norway, but still temperatures towards -20C. Winter is not only coming, but apparently here to stay forever.

-14 two days ago.

Yeah, I skied once -- two weekends ago. But very briefly. I turned back after a few kilometers with a friend while the rest of the group went on. Why? Because there were beers waiting for me back at the cabin! big grin
