Ordered this one after a second listen of the first two samples smile Can't wait.

Anyone who doesn't have Drango or Geisha Boy I suggest you grab them while they are on sale. Both are wonderful scores.

Bruce, little question - is it possible to assembly original score presentation?
If yes, can you give the list of correct tracks order. wink

I suppose one could if one wanted to put the various source cues back where they'd interrupt the flow of the score proper, but that would be a lot of typing for me - maybe at some point.

Excellent release!

Ordered!

Amazing stuff that Bruce the K is able to bring out.

With few exceptions, he's just about the only producer interested in Golden Age now.

As long as he releases them, I'm buying them...

Hooray!

Bruce, any indication in Paramounts paper work WHERE this was recorded. Elmer told me Mexico, but told other people Germany.
the tracks I had when I remixed the film for stereo had people conversing and calling out takes in Spanish.

Just ordered it along with Drango! (Check out the sale cds at $9.99 each!)

In 1970, while still in the Navy in Long Beach, I got a mint mono LP of this score. Now, 43 years later, I'll get the complete score in stereo with great sound quality!

Thanks Bruce, and I look forward to your 2014 golden age cds! smile

Thanks for the info Lukas. I've had the Columbia LP for 43 years and always wondered why it said: "Music Score by Elmer Bernstein" as Elmer usually conducted his own music. Guess it was during the Hollywood musician's strike. Not to get Bruce in trouble, but the new cd says conducted by Elmer! Yikes! smile

Why would I be in trouble? The packaging is correct, the image above is not because I didn't realize the designer sent me an older jpg before we knew all the correct information. I'll swap out the incorrect image momentarily. You can assume that with Paramount titles it will be to the LETTER.

Oooooh,
I detect a possible debate on the true history of this recording...
Lukas vs HainesHisWay

If anything the information from both sides should be enlightening and informative about THE BUCCANEER recording sessions.

wink

What debate. We're both saying exactly the same thing - the image in the press release was an older version before we knew what was what. We changed it - what is hard to understand here? The packaging, which is being printed as we speak, is correct in every way, with all the correct credits. Get it? Got it. Good. smile

There, the correct cover is up now and now everyone can get a good night's sleep. And before we get the next wave of "oh, dears" Mr. Graunke and his orchestra are fully credited on the inlay card. And they play quite well, too. smile

but of particular note are Richard Einhorn's Dead of Winter, Dana Kaproff's When a Stranger Calls, but, most importantly, Elmer Bernstein's Drango, which is essential Bernstein. If you're ordering The Buccaneer, pick up at least one of those as well. Trust me.

This.

Sounds great. To complete my Graunke fill for tonight I had to go to The Wind and the Lion. What a great ensemble that was.
