Yes, Red Planet is a work of singular genius. The score is boring as is most of the ghost written non sense Revell signed on, but the Emma Shaplin stuff is fantastic. It's a concept album that makes the most of all worlds.
It goes back to what Revell did with Dead Calm but in a much more melodic fashion. It is so amazing to observe the Revell that Simonec does and when Graeme actually gives a shit and conceptualises proper music.
Just bumping this as I think there's a pretty big amount of scores from Revell that would make a nice release.
SPAWN is pretty cool. The movie is absolutely terrible, but the score has charm for being what it is. E.g. there's this electronic harp motive for the Heat 16 bomb which is very atmospheric. Good stuff!
Red Planet, The Saint, Assault on Precinct 13, Out of Time and especially Chronicles of Riddick could also use the deluxe edition treatment ;-)
I considered Spawn, listened to it and had to pass. It's not one of his best efforts. Others, on the otherhand...most certainly
I would really like to buy Revell's SPAWN and other unreleased works of his as well. There are so many good childhood memories about the films he has done over the years especially in the 90's.
