I agree. The poster art these days, well, maybe extract the word 'art' from that, it is all so derivative and photoshop looking. I wonder if this is a marketing career for photoshop people now, slapping together and sweetening up studio posters one after another?

Agreed with those who said this movie looks like box office poison.

Clash/Wrath of the Titans did this kind of thing so much better (I know, that's not saying a lot). The cast for those movies helped a great deal. Gods of Egypt is lacking in that kind of star power.

THIS FILM LOOKS IMPOSSIBLY HORRENDOUS! I hate shit like this. Those posters are god awful and the actors are... well, forget it. I'm sure the score will be the awesome! Poyas a genius? Ridiculous!

Unfortunately I have to agree. I love beautifully designed fantastical epics that dabble in revisionist history and beguile the imagination but this just looks like a giant exercise in excess and the visuals largely feel derivative. The gigantic fictional flora are certainly a cool touch, but beyond that....

I imagine the score for this will be great, but the film looks terrible. Another CGI mess, loaded with special effects and no interesting story. I'll pass, but I'll be interested to hear what kind of score Beltrami delivers.

Interesting... how much you actually know about the story besides the shortest synopsis available that you can judge it?

Did you see or hear The Force Awakens in its entirity because you judged that pretty quick?

Yes,... I did hear it all and watch that piece of shit in its entirety as well... that's almost 4 hours of my life I completely wasted... + whatever it took to answer to this post that has nothing to do here.

You don't mince words, that's for sure. I meant no disrespect to you, it was just an observation. Have a good weekend.

Love how you counterarrest negativity with more negativity, Lokutus. Keep it up. At least people who worked up on the score said it's amazing, but given that it was recorded a year before the film comes out, I hope it won't get too butchered up in the final mix. About the movie, I'm sorry, but why don't people wait until see it instead of bashing it with their annoying cynicism? But again, it's FSM, people always are full of negativity and cynicism (except for Deputy and a few), even with good scores and films.

I'm optimistic about the film and look forward to seeing it. It'll probably at least look amazing on the big screen.

I've heard a bit of the score and it is just what you might expect, in the best possible way ... epic choir, pounding percussion (not cheaply rendered like in Die Hard 5), ferocious energy and high-velocity performances, great themes. Electronics seem to take a back seat from what I can tell, but I've only heard a few cues. The vast amount of time and care that was put into the production of this score is apparent and I commend Beltrami and his team. No matter what happens with the film, he attacked this project (as he always does) gallantly and valiantly.

This will be definitely be a Beltrami score to remember.

I can't wait to hear more of it, and I'm extremely pleased that Varese Sarabande has picked it up.

Positivity rocks.

During the summer John Kurlander posted this photo from the sessions for unspecified project in Australia... Seems like it should be this one...

"Many sincere thanks to everyone at Trackdown Studios, Sydney for an amazing month of recording, editing and mixing. Cheers Daniel R Brown, Tim Ryan, Elaine Beckett, Evan McHugh, Jason Fernandez, Jessica Wells and Alex Henery. Can't name the film at this point, but 130 orchestra and chorus made this a very special project."

Those Australians are quite good - also see Knowing.
