Neither actually. At least in the last couple of years where it's more like "decade" or "period" than score or composer for me. More specifically: For quite some time now I totally enjoy exploring the so called Golden Age with its vast variety of composers. Before that it was pretty much exclusively scores from the '60s (& '70s). And before that it was more or less exclusively exploring the vast oeuvre of Maestro Morricone who started it all...

Of course I have my favourite composers but I am no completist. The score itself has to be intriguing.

For me it is primarily about quality orchestral music. So I will rarely buy a score without hearing it first if synths are a big part of it. This served me well when I started getting into film scores around 2008 through limited release scores and I would mostly buy things that sounded full orchestral and interested me. Typically themes play a big part in my enjoyment of these scores as well.

Then I realized that certain composers are more reliable than others so I have been quicker to buy good-sounding music from Rosza, Waxman, Tiomkin, Goldsmith, and Williams because I know that in general if the samples are interesting the score is going to be interesting. Other composers like Herrmann I needed a bit more limiting to certain types of scores.

I tend to stay away from more avant-garde jazzy scores in general because melody is very important to my enjoyment of most scores.

I have taken some exploration into classical music as well but often times the music is more busy and takes more to get into. There is something inherently accessible about film music that I enjoy.

I'm more into music than just "Scores" or "Film Composers".

A lot more scores than composers.
The exception to this rule is Jerry Fielding.

Usually scores, although with John Williams I'm kind of a completist. Same with Jerry Goldsmith, recently...
