Dear friends of music, Unfortunately John Williams had to cancel his participation in the concerts with the Vienna Philharmonic scheduled for Saturday 3 November 2018, 3.30 pm and Sunday, 4 November 2018, 11.00 am due to health reasons. Both concerts will be cancelled and all tickets will be refunded. Tickets purchased on www.musikverein.at will automatically be refunded within the next few days. If you purchased tickets on the phone or at the box office please contact us regarding the refund. The box is open Monday-Friday from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. Please be aware that 26 October and 1 November are holidays on which the box office remains closed. It would have been a great pleasure for us to welcome Maestro Williams at the Musikverein. We deeply regret this cancellation and kindly ask for your understanding. with best regards Box office Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Wien Tel. +43 1 505 81 90 Fax. +43 1 505 81 90 94 tickets@musikverein.at __________________________ Just got this by email. I have tickets and accommodation booked. This sucks big time. The Royal Albert Hall one has been cancelled too. https://tickets.royalalberthall.com/booking/production/bestavailable/60089 Thanks, just got the email there. I bought the tickets, but my father paid for the flights (Ryanair and the hotel), so I'll either by surprising my girlfriend with a trip to Bratislava or my father will try to change the name of the ticket to bring my mother for a weekend to Bratislava. now really worried

It's mystery to me why they decided to fly an 86-year-old, Pacemaker-installed man for 14 hours one or two DAYS before the concert. He should have gone a week in advance to readjust. I struggled tremendously with jetlag and other ailments when I went to LA from Oslo in 2012....and I was only 34 at the time! Yes, Thor, we get it, we all forgot your 40th birthday party.

Well, I just received this e-mail (the highlight is mine). Dear friends of music, "A Tribute to John Williams" - under this title, the concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra which was scheduled for last year will take place on 18th and 19th of January 2020 at the Wiener Musikverein. We are pleased to announce the commitment of John Williams to perform selected highlights from his rich musical output with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. As a ticket purchaser of the cancelled concert from last November, we wanted to inform you, exclusively before the official release date on October 22, 2019, that the concerts will take place. As a member of the previous season, we would like to offer you the opportunity to buy tickets as soon as the sale for the members launches, even if you have not renewed your membership for this season. This possibility is not associated with any obligation and of course free of charge. Start of presale: Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 9.00h (members of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde) Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 09.00h (start of the general presale) Concert tickets can be purchased at www.musikverein.at or in person / by telephone at the Konzertkassa of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde. The two concert dates are: Saturday, 18 January 2020 at 15.30 Sunday, 19 January 2020 at 11.00 We would be happy to welcome you to one of the two concerts at the Musikverein.
