There's no details but I assume they screen the 1997 Special Editions?

Not even that.

It’s the 2011 versions available on Blu Ray and HD.

Among the most outstanding changes in these…for me, anyway...

A New Hope: The Han and Greedo shootout—if you can call it that—is shorten by half the length.

ESB: Ian McDiarmid’s Emperor is replaced by the Clive Revill-voiced, female-faced, money-eyed Emperor carried over from the 1980 edition. We don’t hear Luke screaming down the reactor shaft after the duel (thank goodness for small favors).

Further details can be found here:

In the New York City concerts of ANH, ESB, and ROTJ, they began with the orchestra playing the Fox fanfare. I hope that this concert you'll get to hear them. The reason I say that is because in the current HD versions of the Star Wars saga that are owned by Disney, except for ANH, the Fox logo is removed and the first thing you'll see is the Lucasfilm logo.

I'd be really surprised if the Fox logo is omitted from Empire (I'm sure it will be there on Star Wars as it is even in the streaming version) since the audience will obviously be expecting it. Considering that Disney is going to own the logo and fanfare in a few months, I can't imagine they would object to it too much. I suppose I can answer the question late Saturday night... smile

I am selling my tickets for Saturday's "Empire Strikes Back" on Stubhub. (Can't make it.) Terrace 2 box 1525 (four seats, meaning one complete box) plus parking. If anybody here is interested, they're yours for face value ($583 including parking, plus my processing fee of $0).

That's almost the cost of my brake repair. eek

How do they handle the edits made to the scores after they were recorded? There are several dialed out and tracked cues in Empire—I assume they make those adjustments to the scores?

Lukas

Every last bit of editing/tracking/looping the final films did is replicated live by the orchestra. No unused music is restored.

David Newman and John Williams (with Steven Spielberg on stage too) gave a great show last night. Did anybody else attend?
