Williams as recently performed live his arrangements on My Fair Lady, oroginally written for Shelly Manne. And we can still purchase this 2004 recording directly on the BSO Classics website :-) Lerner and Loewe: "My Fair Lady", arranged for singers and jazz orchestra by John Williams (2004) (2012, BSO Classics, Digital Release; Reeves, Stokes Mitchell, Tanglewood Big Band Ens./Williams) Music arranged and conducted by John Williams. JW also arranged the album "Manne..That's Gershwin" for Shelly Manne. It's a great album and deserves a CD release. There's a nice set titled "John Williams Jazz Beginnings" with his quartet, septet, octet, some solo performances and orchestra featuring Johnny Desmond. It's on Fresh Sound Records jazz city series, FSR 2228. There's an interview with pianist Roger Williams on youtube telling the story as to why JW is credited as John Towner. They both were on the Kapp Records, Roger Williams was their best selling artist at the time, and Kapp didn't want people to think they were related.
