Hello and excuse me again for the self-promotion, but I thought this would be the most suitable forum to put a reel I edited the past few days of my film music work.
A scene from "DOVES" (2008), for which I wrote my first film score. The score won the "Best Music for Short film" Award at the JERRY GOLDSMITH AWARDS in Spain.
I still remember how happy I was that I found this film and had the opportunity to make my first step towards my dream...
Lovely Konstantinos. My teen daughter overheard me listening to it and thought it was lovely also. I look forward to watching you in your career.
Thank you very much edwzoomom! (and your daughter)
You are very welcome. Wonderful to see new talent emerging with such potential.
Really appreciate your words!
And thank youspanos and Thor for your comments too! Film Scoring is a difficult path to follow (especially if you don't live in USA), but I can't think of myself doing something else. This is my life and my dream..

Like I can't see myself doing anything else than listening and judging!
I just listened to "The Photograph" and "Love Blooming" cues (better late than never, right?!) - a fine, FINE work that movie, KZ! I really don't think it would have worked better if Allen had the talents of, say, Dario Marianelli at his disposal - and I mean it, however exaggerated it seems! (It would've just been far costlier...!)

Thank you JohnnyG, your words honour me (oh, I hope this expression is the same as it is in Greek).
It's true that I feel right up in my alley in romantic dramas - I would love to score a (tragic) romantic period drama someday and have a real orchestra at my disposal (unfortunately samples restrict you, and you can't write exactly what you would write for a real orchestra. eg. I can't use an extensive lyrical violin solo line or make some nice orchestral effects).
Another piece from 2005, not from a film music score, but filmic in nature..
The solo violin is played by a Russian Violinist (Elena Kiseleva), who I think played it exceptionally.
The piece won the 1st Award for "Original composition" in a national Greek music contest (Makemusic 2005), and also it was nominated for a "Best Free Creation" Award, at the JERRY GOLDSMITH AWARDS 2006 (Spain).
Another complete soundtrack (incl. 2 alternates) I wanted to share, in an interactive youtube video. The music was composed for a short film, the historic war drama "THE LIGHT BEFORE DAWN" (2009).
This a short anti-racist film that generally has made a huge impression around, and it gained even more attention when Aston Kutcher shared it into his facebook profile some days ago. I composed the score, just a very short piece at the end and a brief introduction in the beginning.
I just wanted to say (as I said in another thread) that it's very difficult to try to compose something very simple, that doesn't sound simplistic but has a level of sophistication. Well, here I tried some dissonant notes in the chords with some 2nds and a bit of quartal chords.
I should point out that when I composed the piece, the film hadn't been shot. I wrote what came to me by reading the script (and spotted where the music should start exactly). Fortunately I think it fitted in the end..
Today is a national holiday in Greece, linked to World Ward II.
Here's a scene from a somewhat relevant historic war drama, for which I composed the music. The main music theme of the film (that can be heard in the end titles too), appears at 00.48' - after an elegiac choral introduction - and follows the personal drama of Vassili who has just killed an Italian soldier, but also the drama of the refugees who return from the mountains, after the end of the war.
