Perhaps I'm going blind but I can't find anything about the quantity on this release. Anyone know?

3,000. It's on the back cover art of the CD, visible in FSM's listing.

Thanks. Like I said, goin' blind.

Lukas, yet another question--will the 3000 limitation be firm? Will there be a possibility of pressing more if successful?

That's my question too. 3000 seems low for a pair of Goldsmith/Horner, but you never know...

I haven't heard either of these, but have a feeling they're gonna be just my cup of tea. As it were.

Ordered!

I think it's a very realistic number. Intrada's double Goldsmith TV release ("A Step Out of Line"/"Brotherhood of the Bell") has not sold out its 2500 in more than six months, and their Horner releases took quite a while to sell out. FSM's "Cain's Hundred" (more Goldsmith television) is still around and coming up on two years old.

While I'm at it… terrific release! Looking forward to this one.

It's great to see that CBS Archive being tapped at UCLA. Bravo FSM!

I really love the antiquity, or weathered, effect applied to the covers--gives it that old book look. Very nice touch.

Thanks for noticing! And I'll bet you'll like the clean sound of the albums even more. ;-)

Most definitely! Looking forward to hearing it, Joe. Again, keep up the fantastic designs. Your work remains unmatched.

but this is not a horner or a goldsmith... it's BOTH. So more potential buyers.

I was expecting this to be released later in the month, or at the beginning of April! Anyhoo, I popped in for a quick look around before going to bed and saw this is now on sale. Fortunately I had enough money in my paypal account to manage to get this without a struggle (like I had with the last batch of CDs) - will look forward to hearing both scores once it reaches this side of the pond, though I'm more after the Horner score than the Goldsmith. smile

I wonder what hope there is now for some of the other short Horner scores like 'I Love You to Death' and 'Off Beat' to get releases?

With something like this coming out, maybe I can now dream more realistically about A FEW DAYS IN WEASLE CREEK, A PIANO FOR MRS CIMINO, P.K AND THE KID, ANGEL DUSTED and STONE BOY appearing on CD.

Goldsmith would have had a shit fit sharing an album with that other guy...

How do you know this? Did you know Jerry personally? Maybe he would not have cared either way.

Yeah, well.... not much you can say when you are dead.

Goldsmith was famously cranky about a lot of his scores being issued on CD at all. I don't know that sharing a CD with Horner would have just added to that indignity, but I wouldn't put too much stock in it, regardless.

Apparently, Goldsmith was no fan of Horner, especially when (reportedly) in an interview, Horner claimed he was not influenced by, was unfamiliar with and hadn't really heard of Jerry Goldsmith; this despite the fact that he had once dated Jerry's daughter (Carrie, I believe).
