A few years back I did a number of Garvarentz restorations from LP to CD for a friend. At the time, I was pretty much indifferent to Garvarentz, but in the many listenings to the various albums in the process of cleanup and conversion I grew to truly appreciate his work. (Lord, that cover and poster for MARCO THE MAGNIFICENT has to be one of the worst, with that ghastly predominant green background.)
I'm guiltily addicted to that over-the-top vocal rendition of "Triple Cross" by Tony Allen on the UA LP, wherein the producers had to have said to Garvarentz, "give us something like THUNDERBALL." And, speaking of which, let me again thank our own beloved Dr. Alex Zambra for providing me with a rare single of TRIPLE CROSS actually sung by Tom Jones, enabling me to add a neat "bonus track" to the finished album conversion. Strangely enough, I still prefer the Tony Allen version as the Jones version is taken at a slower pace and lacks the orchestral punch of the Roland Shaw conducted album version.
Soundtrack sense tingling! I predict that some of Garvarentz music will be issued on CD by ***********........

Can A&C now predict which 2 Garvarentz titles are coming "pretty soon"? Will it be 2 vinyl LP programs re-issued onto a single CD? Or will we be treated to never-before-released Garvarentz music?
Like the sample for Un Beau Monstre don't own any of the composers scores think I have a few tracks of his on compilations.
Thought the film and the music on Du Rififi à Paname was pretty good not sure it would be interesting enough though away from the film.
The main title is very similar to Peter Gunn
There has to be loads of great French scores from 50s-70s worthy of release I would like to get all the music from Bob le Flambeur (Jo Boyer / Eddie Barclay) including the songs.
I'm curious if 2014 will bring us some new Garvarentz scores on CD, given that the only one released last year in April was sold out very quickly and received quite a lot of positive reviews here on the board (including, of course, mine).
In French it depends which letter follows the "G". So it's pronounced "G" (same as "give" or "go") in Garvarentz but "zh" (roughly) for both g's in Georges.
Is there any chance of any GG CD releases in 2015?

This GG surprise comes not from MusicBox but Disques Cinemusique.
I'm so grateful that this album was selected because its vinyl versions are ultra rarities that fetch up to around 200 Euros. The prospect of getting this LP's content on CD for $20 will compensate for those of us (including myself) who have never had gotten the opportunity and/or the means to acquire the Barclay vinyl.
[I haven't been this enthused about an LP to CD since the end of 2006, when Harkit reissued onto CD the rare United Artists vinyl record of FIVE MILES TO MIDNIGHT.]

I have Le Rat d'Amerique on LP but it has a few issues (and I suspect it is the pressing rather than my particular vinyl). Since the new edition is a vinyl LP, I will certainly be looking for comments about the sound. I think it is a pretty good "dramatic"/orchestral soundtrack that will certainly please fans of "Marco Polo".
