YOR, you didn't mention the steel case?
That has to be good for something. Like storing magic nose goblins or used dental floss.

Stop attention whoring. There's an official thread

Maybe YOR didn't want to hijack the official thread and be accused of trolling like has happened in the past. This way, he has his own thread in which people can attack YOR and let the official thread stay there without his distractions.

I'm certainly happy with any thread that gives me the opportunity to attack Yor.

' Yor' is just an attention seeker hes on other boards as well and anyone who calls himself after a Z list movie is obviously questionable ....

I'm surprised to hear that YOR no like drums.

YOR really LOVES percusion!

But not when it sounds like a bunch of 12 years old banging the neighbor's drums...

Zimmer's scoring is, for me, the equivalent of Wal-Mart flooring. The best thing you can say about it is that it covers the space, never memorably or even appropriately, but in a practical way, devoid real emotion or craftsmanship.

Wal-mart is selling advance tickets to MoS. Be the first on your block to see (and hear) it!

No big surprises! If you don't like it - don't listen to it again or if you hate Zimmer that much then don't ever listen to it.

Everyone has their own personal taste. I'm sure this would get me shot in some parts but some Barry scores could put be into a coma if I listened to them from beginning to end.

Man of Steel hasn't grabbed me the way his Dark Knight trilogy did but then I think Newton-Howard was a big reason why I liked Batman Begins - shame he wasn't available to help Zimmer with a new Superman theme we all seemed to be craving.

YOR would love to never listen to Zimmer again.

But the guy insists in doing his wall of sounds to a lot of good movies that YOR wants to see!

So, it is Zimmer's fault. He should retire. That would be nice, yes!

I have no problem with YOR review. I am not a big Zimmer fan but seeing the trailer, hearing the music at the GSPO concert and from everything I've heard about the movie, I am expecting a tragic SUPERMAN theme. The man of steel is not the guy who represents "truth, justice and the American way" like many of the other SUPERMANs but a super powered alien who finds himself alone on this planet and, it looks like, ostracized. Again no heroic pageantry this time, and from what I HAVE heard I believe I hear a theme, sadder and lonelier than we usually expect from these films. Maybe nothing to write home about but entirely appropriate for this type of movie.

Possibly from cave-living Yor may see things a bit black and white.

Gee, that description sounds a lot like YOR.

This thread has 1,200 views. Looks like YOR is really good at getting under people's skin.

No, Morricone. There is no theme at all. Not even a tragic one.

Zimmer sometimes tries to come with some "sad" or "tragic" music, and he even put a solo violin and women crying in one cue, but it just sounds pathetic.

Mr Greg thinks Mr Greg and Yor must have listened to different scores.

Okay for you there is no theme. But for me the notes at the beginning of this repeat on a grander and grander scale throughout the piece, which makes it a theme.

You are talking about a motif, not a theme.

And a realy lame motif, if you asK YOR.

The Encyclop├ędie Fasquelle defines a theme as "Any element, motif, or small musical piece that has given rise to some variation becomes thereby a theme".
