Huh?

You stated that you'd written an assessment of Jablonsky's music, but then decided that it was unnecessary [since his music is so ostensibly horrid, that such an effort would be superfluous].

That's not what I stated at all. I stated that his music speaks for itself.

Right. I made an inference, indicated by the brackets, which was informed by your reviews of his scores.

...but okay, then. What did you mean by that?

I thought James' statement was pretty clear. Listen to Jablonsky's music and it will speak for itself.

Yeah, I read it, but it still doesn't mean anything. He made an objectively declarative statement, and I'm apparently mistaken in my interpretation of it, so I'm asking him to clarify.

Wait a minute here junior, that review is far, far to even handed and fair minded. What the hell were you thinking to stay grounded in reality and rational thought while writing that? razz

The score IS pretty enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this film (much more than I anticipated) but I thought the score was very weak.
I spent a lot of moments during the film imagining it with a score by people like Horner, Broughton, Scott, Holdridge, Eidelman or David Newman. It sounded much better wink

I thought the film was fine but uneven. What it lacked was a sense of urgency and tension. But it was, for a change, nice to see a movie with real sci-fi aspirations.

This is about the 5th movie in a row I've seen this year which had absolutely no musical identity. Glorified trailer music is all. But that is what the industry is looking for nowadays.

Gave it a listen today and did nothing for me.

Shame.

As others have noted I hear a lot of the temp score and not enough of anything new or refreshing.

Just saw the movie, which I thought was great. This might be the first Jablonsky score I enjoy, seemed to fit the movie well and had some good cues throughout. Might even pick up the album.

I thought the same thing. Good movie with a good score.

Has anyone else had difficulties on ripping this CD? I have tried iTunes and XLD but I still can't rip 4 last tracks.
