Wait a minute here junior, that review is far, far to even handed and fair minded. What the hell were you thinking to stay grounded in reality and rational thought while writing that?
I really enjoyed this film (much more than I anticipated) but I thought the score was very weak. I spent a lot of moments during the film imagining it with a score by people like Horner, Broughton, Scott, Holdridge, Eidelman or David Newman. It sounded much better
I thought the film was fine but uneven. What it lacked was a sense of urgency and tension. But it was, for a change, nice to see a movie with real sci-fi aspirations.
This is about the 5th movie in a row I've seen this year which had absolutely no musical identity. Glorified trailer music is all. But that is what the industry is looking for nowadays.
Just saw the movie, which I thought was great. This might be the first Jablonsky score I enjoy, seemed to fit the movie well and had some good cues throughout. Might even pick up the album.
