Juggler - why not judge for yourself on the samples? If you can already tell that the new Mancini release is not to your standards you should be able to tell from samples on Tuesday next week.

I, The Jury artwork is superb! I'm really looking forward to both of these scores.

LLL continues to prove why they are the best label ever!

The Juggler, I think I can safely speak on behalf of La La Land Records and state they have not and will never issue a CD release sourced from a bootleg.

We did have a choice of the 1/4 inch mono masters (the only known surviving masters) or some cassette tape I bought off some bum behind the Fox back lot, but we decided to go with the 1/4 inch (even though at the tail end of the cassette tape the last 2 minutes of Air Supply's "I'm All Out of Love" was there. That's my JAM!)

La-La Land Records and 20th Century Fox present the world premiere release of composer Bill Conti’s (ROCKY, FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE) original score to the 1982 noir/thriller feature I, THE JURY, starring Armand Assante, Barbara Carrera and Alan King, and directed by Richard T. Heffron. Conti’s explosive, jazzy score is all kinds of cool, spraying bullets and bedding lovers in equal measure as famed gumshoe Mike Hammer takes it to the baddies. It’s a perfect match for this wildly fun and knowingly over-the-top Mickey Spillane adaptation. Produced by Nick Redman and Ford A. Thaxton, restored by Mike Matessino and mastered by Daniel Hersch from ¼’’ mono tapes, this special release of 2000 units also contains exclusive liner notes from film music writer Julie Kirgo, with comments from score pianist, Mike Lang.

This IS September 24th, right? Then why can't I find "True Grit" at the La-La-Land Records site so I can order it???

Follow-Up: Got an email from La-La-Land Recofds in response to my email to them, and that CD doesn't go on sale until 12 pm pst -- at which time I'll be on the road and unable to order anything until 5 or 6 pm, so let's hope they're still some left by then! (Probably should be.)

Well, I'm not surprised, that 1969's Grit is in mono.
But I, the Jury! It's 1982!!!
I don't want to say any bad word about LLL, Nick Redman and Ford A. Thaxton - I know that they did their best to bring this to us.
But from another point of view - this days mono-sources score sounds amazing, so I think this little disapointment will not upset my expectations wink

Are you serious? You think that 3000 copies (even minus a whole bunch that other retailers will get) will sell out in five hours?
Especially one from the 60s, in mono, that already have a great rerecording?

I swear, this board...
